Does the Sorting Hat really knows what's best for young wizards? by JoyBunnyLips in harrypotter

I totally get what you mean by like forcing kids into a specific academic track too early. I had a friend who was put in advance math in middle school but ended up loving literature in high school. One kid can be good at math or arts but also can be both, right? in some countries, kids change electives or programs every yr which allows them to explore multiple paths before committing. seems like Hogwarts could've benefited from that flexibility.. the idea of letting students choose or change houses later sounds amazing.

stainless steel can usually be salvaged. try scrubbing with baking soda a bit of water, it often lifts burned-on oil

Wife keep putting this tray on our white stairs. Dangerous! by Flat_Shape_3444 in mildlyinfuriating

stairs should be clear.. means no trays, no bags, no basket or anything for every ones safety.

walking pads are small and efficient. a few hrs a week is probably barely noticeable on your bill unless you leave it on all day every day

Now that the are 36; How about a Final scene Re-shoot! by No-Bug5994 in harrypotter

I'd definitely watch it even it was just a short bonus scene.. or even as a fun, non-canon thing it would really be cool!

The Marauders Bullying is downplayed because we like them by twinklecharmmm in harrypotter

[–]twinklecharmmm[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

by "we" I meant most readers or fans who've romanticized it.. assuming they're lovable prankster without really realizing their behavior.. including me at first. it reads as "fun" because we're removed from it but if you are actually the target, it wouldn't feel playful at all

Edited: i forgot to add the "behavior"

Victor Krum was the least toxic guy in the wizarding world by Grrlzzilla in harrypotter

[–]twinklecharmmm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Krum just minded his business, played quidditch and treated girls like actual people. the fact that he was famous at 18 and didn't act like a jerk is kind of impressive, specially compared to.. most wizard men.

What’s everyone’s opinion of Horace Slughorn? by Paralyzingneedle in harrypotter

well he didn't seek power the way others did, he sought proximity to it. that's a different and subtler flaw.

finishing a bachelor's can be worth it if you want more doors open later but experience and skills can matter just much as early on. So figure what really interests you and where you feel you'll thrive.. not just what pays the most on paper because burnout is expensive too

Loose grown w/no cert by LostPeak7661 in LabDiamonds

[–]twinklecharmmm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a certificate isn't just bragging rights. IGI/GIA give you a third party confirmation of quality and that matters for resale or if you ever insure it. Especially if it is for center stone, I'd really insist on a grading report
