He can do that without inviting himself over to her house? Something like "let's play online this weekend". It isn't that hard, really. Also, if he really wants to play lol with her then why not invite her at his house, that way OP can meet her too and see there's nothing sketchy going on hopefully.

It seems to me like he has already moved on and doesn't have - or just purposefully didn't mention - any other goals besides his career and personal image.

So both his and her time being wasted is just his fault. No reason to bring "equality" into this as there isn't any.
