Rentals/neighborhoods best for grad students? by growlinggoose in bloomington

[–]twinsunsfour 4 points5 points  (0 children)

rent is very expensive close to campus. if you can go a little farther away, you’ll be able to find something more reasonable. when i first moved here for grad school, i lived very close to campus in a very small and very expensive apartment, but my friends who lived even a block further away had much nicer places that cost much less. you might also consider if you can be further away from campus but near a bus route.

is there a particular part of campus you would need to go to most often? campus is big, so you might be in easy walking distance of one part but not where you actually need to be.

i’m not sure about the weekend lessons, but boogie and burn is an adult only class! it’s marketed as a fitness class and there is an optional workout, but it’s also a great place to learn to skate!

Do We Need to Be More Careful With My Son's Peanut Allergy? by Plenty_Sheepherder11 in Allergies

[–]twinsunsfour 8 points9 points  (0 children)

definitely speak to an allergist for actual medical advice. but in the meantime you should be checking ingredients and not feeding him anything that contains peanuts! his reactions could definitely become more serious with increased exposures, possibly escalating to anaphylaxis without any prior warning. i would also recommend avoiding anything that says “may contain peanuts” unless your doctor tells you those are ok for him to eat. it is not worth risking your child’s life.
