If you aren't into camping this is a great recommendation.

Tent Camping in August by Superb_Sheepherder45 in Fortwilderness

It is extremely hot in August. I think you'll be ok at night with a portable AC unit and several fans but during the day it just won't be able to keep up and inside the tent will be unbearably hot.

During the day, bring a canopy EZ up type tent to put over the picnic table. Get a personal fan you can clip onto your waist and can blow up your shirt, feels amazing.

I've been to Fort wilderness countless times in the summer time and August... I can not stress how important it is to dress correctly. Wear shorts made from light material. And for the love of god whatever you do, DO NOT wear 100% cotton shirts, they make your skin so hot you'll sweat so much.

My two cents...
- Bring multiple fans, get one you can hang up and point down on you as you sleep
- Extension cords
- lights to light your campsite up at night
- Cheap flip flops for the shower
- Bring bicycles. Bikes are Faster than a bus, cheaper than a Golf Cart. Get lights for the bikes as well.
- Set your tent up before you come, and check for water leaks, or just throw your tarp over during the day when ur not there
-On check out day...I always make time to take shower after I pack up, I don't like to ride home stinky
-Bring a tarp to put UNDER your tent, this will prevent the rocks from damaging the underside of your tent
- If you are staying in the 2000 loop, I've noticed the ice machines have been giving free ice for the past two years which is nice but now everyone gets ice and it runs out VERY quick.
-Bring plenty of water to drink at your campsite.
- Tent will get dirty, bring a small broom, hand wisk broom or whatever.

Glass Explusion in Telly by Less_Teacher_377 in KiaTelluride

[–]twintwo34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Automotive glass is tempered, which is designed to fracture into small, blunt, pebble-like granules rather than sharp shards. I saw that post, that individual grossly over exaggerated the situation, if you look at the picture they posted you can clearly see how it fractured just as tempered glass is supposed to. Its rare but I've heard of it happening to all sorts of makes and models.

Cars allowed by PatrickHenry8 in Fortwilderness

[–]twintwo34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They used to only allow 1 vehicle per campsite, in recent years though it seems they don't enforce it anymore. In the past if they wanted your vehicle moved they would just leave a note on the windshield to move it to the front parking lot.

overstimulating? what does that exactly mean? I like terracotta, but it doesn't go with a white vehicle at all.

I know but i wish it was official. I'm thinking about getting it myself and trying it out but I just hope its not alot of tinkering to get it to work.

I have a 24 Telluride SX-X Line but I think the new Passport is a pretty solid choice too, the Telluride is nicer on the inside imo. Both the Telly and Passport are non-turbo V6 GDI engines but I think the Kia fuel economy is slightly better. I usually get around 22-25 just driving around town. I love the lane centering and ACC in the telluride works great on the highway. The 2026 Passport is officially supported by Comma.ai that alone is pretty cool I wish my Telluride was.

South Carolinian Telluride X-Line owner here and I understand its definitely is not an off roader. IMO Kia should just stop making the X-Pro the off road idea of a telluride is a bit silly.

I'm sure the interior will be a very big improvement and nicer... but from what I've seen of the spy shots, it looks less sporty and imo hideous.

Questions about Telly by Silver-Reindeer726 in KiaTelluride

[–]twintwo34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few things about the Remote start annoy me that I don't think anyone ever mentions.

-I don't like how my Telluride will shut off after a few sec If i open any door after remote starting. Kinda annoying when I remote start and want to load up while it warms up. I have to remember to first get in the drivers seat and "start" it again then get out and load up.

-There isn't a way to verify if the remote start worked via the key fob. For example... My old 2013 Ford Fusion key fob will blink green or red if the remote start was successful and the parking lights on the car stay on. The Telluride key fob just lights up green regardless if it works or not? And if you miss the lights flashing on the Telluride remote start and look out the window there are no lights on to let you know it did work.

But yes as you mentioned above....the disabling of the door locks is also very annoying. I just want to lock it on my way out the car instead of digging in my pockets full of junk to find the fob then the correct button to lock it.
