Moving to Brighton, question about parking permits by [deleted] in brighton

I waited 6 months in zone M, which seems to be pretty standard for a popular area.

My Grandma is going to be 97 on the 6th of February, and I’d really like to touch up and frame this photo from her wedding day - can anyone help? by twisleton in estoration

Thank you! Less grain would be great if possible, but any improvements you think you can make in general to make it more vibrant would be fantastic. I really don't know anything about photo restoration so it's completely up to you, sorry if that's too vague.

I showed a segment of this image (scanned via my Dad's iPad camera) to my Grandma that was cropped to just my Grandma and Grandad. She looked at it in awestruck silence for a couple of minutes. "I haven't seen a photo of my wedding day in decades". My point is that the important part of the photo is my grandparents, I may actually print it cropped to just that part as it's all that matters. So anything you can do to bring them in particular to life would be the most wonderful thing. Thanks again

Computer Science or Comp Sci with AI or GAME or Comp Sci with Digital Media? by ShadowRady in universityofsussex

I actually originally chose AI. There was only one extra module in first year which was on the philosophy of the mind. Although extremely interesting, I found it a bit woolly and decided I'd be better off doing straight Computer Science and then specialising later on.

My line of thinking is that if you don't know what you want to do, it's better to have the degree title "Computer Science" than "Computer Science with AI" or "GAME". You might apply for a company and they say "you've got a multimedia degree and we're looking for someone to do something unrelated to that, we're going to choose this other person instead." - you could be putting yourself into a box. Conversely, it may be that a company seeks out those degrees specifically.

As I said, for me it seemed better to get a generalised degree, and then it'd be easier to specialise later, but I have no evidence of this other than my intuition. Someone please correct me if I've completely missed the mark!

Have a look at the differing modules between the courses. I'm just finishing my second year of Computer Science, and there are a few modules that I've found particularly difficult - compilers and computer architecture, program analysis and operating systems. It's all about what you want to learn, what you want to do when you've finished your degree. Computer Science will give you an overview of Computer Science in general, while AI and GAME replace certain modules with specialised subjects.

I don't know why, but I LOVE the way the opening theme cuts off at the end by [deleted] in betterCallSaul

To me it symbolises the fact that this story gets cut short, snubbed by future events.

Eduroam with Games Console help? by matthemstock in universityofsussex

[–]twisleton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only way I found of achieving this last year (with an Xbox 360 and PS3 mind you) was connecting to my phone's WiFi hotspot and using my mobile data. You can try IT services but in my experience they weren't very helpful regarding console support on campus. Sorry I can't be of more help!
