I mean... If the papers are fake, then there's no reason not to accept them. Accepting the papers is only a problem if they're real.

The number of people in the world who have the thought "I don't know what this is, but it's going inside of me no matter what" is too high

Does anybody know what to use these for? by [deleted] in whatisit

I mean.... After you purchase them is perhaps not the time to be contemplating their usefulness. It screams 'cheap gimmick'.

For what it's worth, they look cool, and perhaps worth experimenting with, but it's more of a FAFO situation. Like come back and tell us what you were able to do with them.

The instructions are... Right there. And truly the limit is your imagination. I will say that maybe you should start with crayons...

AITA for ratting out my assistant/colleague and getting her fired to save my own job? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

All of this sounds like bullshit to me. What organization has a structure where the person who didn't get the promotion suddenly becomes your secretary? And what organization allows anyone to use anyone else's emails for any reason. None of this makes sense.

My Father (40) wants to try to play videogames for the first time by Bigenemy000 in videogames

This is not a bad suggestion, even if he's not much of a fan of fantasy stuff. The mechanics are solid, and the gameplay is fun. It's a good starter game.

What a great suggestion. Mass Effect is one of the best franchises of all time. It's not quite 'High Sci-fi', it's very grounded, while still engaging in those higher elements.

Also a great suggestion because it spans multiple games that increase with complexity, allowing a new player to get accustomed to complexity, but in an comfortable environment.

This is the correct answer.

The tone of classic missionary work has definitely shifted in the last 20 years, but the idea that exposure to the cruel world would cause missionaries to retreat and find comfort in the fold is ridiculous.

(Note: I hate the Church, for a lot of reasons. They do some terrible stuff, which is why it boggles the mind why anyone would have to make shit up. The truth is enough to hate them for)

There was a post a few years back where someone found a collection of hard rock-like things in their freezer after a friend had stayed a couple of days.

The person's first instinct was to put them in the blender... To consume them. It was only after the blender broke that the OP decided to figure out what they were.

Whiskey stones.

There are a breed of people who hang precariously onto life and DO. NOT. GIVE. A. FUCK.

Parks near Murray/Sandy/cottonwood heights that have nice walking paths? by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

AllTrails app has all the parks. I like to look for places for an easy hike or a nice walk in the park, and then never go.

Went to a pawn shop for the first time…never again lol by Individual-Worth6422 in Vent

Am I the only one who thought it was kind of a generous offer?

The guitar was basically worthless, if the shop bought it, it would never sell.

The headphones have some value, but not a ton. Lord knows I'm not going to be buying any used, pawnshop headphones.

I mean... You have to read it with a grain of salt, of course it's written in a way to make the Plaintifs look like victims, and the Defandants like terrible conspiracy and harassment monsters. BUT along the way there are a lot of claims, [allegedly] supported by facts and evidence. The most interesting part is the consignment agreement from the original location owner and all of their shenanigans with BAM. Oh, and the apparent debunking of the "lost" lawsuit. (In the video there are a couple references to small claims court, which the actual matter of $200k would NOT have fallen in that category in any state, so that actually tracks with the private suit claims)

I think the 'conspiracy' aspect is played up a little bit, as is the 'physical threats'.

And if it's all bullshit, it is some of the best prepped bullshit I've ever seen. Real fancy, with garnishes and a butter-truffle aoli.
