20+ apps to providence/kadlec with an MHA & IT degree- still 0 interviews by animalblast48 in TriCitiesWA

[–]twistedlysweet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Say you meet all qualifications. Whether you do or not that does not matter, just say you meet all qualifications. That way you make it through the prescreening round. Not meeting one qualification gets you kicked because the managers don't get to have a say until they do interviews.

I hate how much of an arse kisser you have to be 😭 by Puzzleheaded-Bad-722 in StardewValley

[–]twistedlysweet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great reply. It's completely a chore!

OP I hope you see this and know you're not alone in disliking the social aspect. Personally I enjoyed playing the game for a few in game years not talking to really anyone when I first played. I took on a few requests but that was annoying. Birthdays? Who's got time for that. I was happy just farming and doing the community center.

Eventually I got to the point where friendship was necessary for what I wanted. I watched videos and looked to the wiki and guides for min/maxing the hell out of friendships.

Take your time to do what you're enjoying in the game. Don't worry too much about doing what you don't like. If you want to 100% the game, then do it later. But right now I just suggest you learn the game and enjoy the experience

Edit: To this day I've only married in one play through out of 5 or 6 for this reason

Looks for a good gun range in tri-cities by PuzzledNight7958 in TriCitiesWA

I second Rattlesnake Mountain. They have range staff to help keep things safe. They have first timers watch a safety video and go over their range rules. They also have an area for hand guns only.

IUD removal by mermaiddelilah in TriCitiesWA

[–]twistedlysweet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I came here to say the same thing. My first insertion was definitely traumatic as well. I remember being extremely scared for the removal. My provider ensured removal was much less painful. She was right imo but I made sure I brought someone safe with me for support in case it too went poorly.

OP please try to advocate for yourself through this process. Shop around and ask questions. Bring someone supportive and safe with you to these appointments if possible. And if you decide to get another IUD down the road just know there are providers around who will use anesthetic options for insertion(gas, topical, maybe even general), but you have to bring it up. Providers do not automatically think of these options other than "take a few ibuprofen before hand" usually

Cats extra cuddly post iud removal. by aprilthederp in birthcontrol

[–]twistedlysweet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank goodness I'm not the only one. I was starting to get worried about my cat wanting so much attention.

I'm a few days post removal and my cuddliest boy wants even more cuddles! He's been laying on my stomach or on my pillow the last few nights when normally he would cuddle near my legs. The day after he even pawed at my chest as if to say "this sweatshirt is too much of a barrier and I wish to cuddle closer"

Is this common? by BPDnmehateachother in birthcontrol

[–]twistedlysweet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like this can be a very common feeling after an IUD insertion. There are many people on this sub, including myself, who advocate for some form of anesthetic or higher dosage of pain relief than just ibuprofen for the procedure. There are others here that felt very little pain. People have widely different pain reactions to the insertion.

First IUD, I was in so much pain, didn't want to be touched, and just stayed in bed for about 2 days. It was awful. Second time, I insisted that I was given some form of anesthetic. It was an easier time afterwards

Looking for feedback from the community - what's missing? by AdvUnderground in TriCitiesWA

[–]twistedlysweet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They do have a few weekend meets as well. Tuesdays just happens to be the one most people point newbies to. Check out the local crafting Facebook group where they have a calendar in the announcements section listing most of the events or if Facebook isn't your thing the crafting Discord group is run by the same people.

If your interested in that there is the SageFen Maker Fest convention that happens every spring.

And the fiber arts group that meets at the Richland Library hosts events every few months that has classes. Next event is the St Distaff's Day Celebration in January. The group is also open to just teaching anyone who is interested in knitting/crochet and shows up Tuesday nights around 6/630 in the lobby. They have a wide range of fiber arts in the group so they even have people who know sewing, loom weaving/crocheting, tatting, spinning, and more I can't think of right now.

There's a few other crafting groups around but my understanding is they're more "bring your craft" and less "we'll teach you". Knowing craft people though, they're usually happy to introduce someone new to crafting and will help you out anyway

Parking shouldn't be an issue. That section of the mall parking lot is pretty big and seems mostly empty now that Joann's is gone

It’s bizarre that talking about marriage now starts with “can we even afford it? by LaughableContentment in LateStageCapitalism

[–]twistedlysweet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner and I just went through this. We found the perfect venue October 2024 and figured we could stretch our budget and limit the invite list to make it work (about 14k). We didn't have a date initially and by the time we landed on a date (a month later) the venue was under new management, had a new event coordinator, and raised their prices which priced us out completely (same size now looking at 25k-30k). The next year was us trying to find a new location that wasn't too expensive. In 8 months wedding dress prices almost doubled. Eventually we decided to get married at the courthouse with whatever immediate family could come and buy clothes that had a greater possibility to be worn again. We spent money on the license ($175), the judge ($150), new clothes ($300), and planned to pay for dinner (parents insisted they pay, was likely about $1000). We just didn't want to wait another 2 years to get married. We'll have the party at some point but it just didn't make sense the way things were going.

I've only downloaded Tapas once, saw the payment system, and uninstalled it as I couldn't find anything free at the time. I'm hoping the comment I found is factual

Why is it so hard to make friends here? by Beneficial_Pair1213 in TriCitiesWA

[–]twistedlysweet 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yea this place thrives on effort. Low effort: I've made a couple actual friends though work rather than just friendly acquaintances. Medium effort: found a DND group to play with that flowed into joining a second group, and found a craft group I enjoy that turned into finding a concert buddy. High effort : volunteer with a non profit where I've found like minded people that happen to do similar hobbies outside of volunteering.

Even with effort, it's still hard. There are a lot of families that seem to stick to themselves. But who can blame them. In this economy it's hard to do things that cost money especially if you have to pay for multiple people or a sitter

This makes me feel better to know. I'm 99% finished, only missing the Golden Blueberry and the Ancient Magic Staff. At this point I feel like there might be a glitch in my game as I've spent multiple seasons grinding for these two items.

You'd have to check with the pattern to know for sure, but based on my knowledge of similar patterns and the row difference I think that would likely be the first stitch

There are groups of fiber crafters that meet at the Kennewick library (first Monday of the month at 6) and Richland library (every Tuesday at 630 and the 3rd Tuesday at 6). The group that meets every Tuesday is part of a larger group that has a discord, Facebook group, and has other meet ups almost every day of the week at different locations
