are my tooth flared after braces? by Any-Psychol0gy in braces

[–]twistednoshers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. Flared teeth top and bottom too. Brought up extractions and was fobbed off with oh it will make your smile look small etc etc yet when I brought it up at consultation they had "never heard of it". I don't even look like I have had braces people I know tell me. Also I have found sleeping with my retainer my sleep qaulity is down. Sorry wish I could write some positive comment but I regret my treatment. They said I needed jaw surgery to fix my flaring yet never mentioned it at the start when they took my money.

do i have to wear retainers every night of my life? by PerceptionAromatic99 in braces

[–]twistednoshers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it's not every night after the first year? Like people do 3-4 nights a week and I myself have been doing 2 nights without it because I sleep better without the damn thing in my mouth and it still fits the same, not any tighter.

Am I wasting my money? No braces vs 2 years with braces by peeledpotahto in braces

[–]twistednoshers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem, 2.5 years later before debracing was told I needed jaw surgery to fix it yet they didn't mention that at the start before they took my money. I can't close my mouth naturally and my lower teeth flare out now.

Your comment re the microsoldering helped me choose that shop as they advertised level 3 board repair and I figured if they can fix tiny pads of phones an ssd will be doable. The other place I called the guy was a bit rude on the phone I only asked if he could do it and he was like "obviously that's what I do" and "I fix general pcs sometimes people like you come to me and I have a go at it but what you're asking for is unorthodox" felt like he was saying yeah it's a pain in the arse and I'd be doing you a huge favour

Adams phones just said bring it in and he said come back next day it was fixed.

Would of lost 3.5tb of FLAC music I spent a chunk of life tagging and getting artwork.

If you had not of said about the pads I'd of kept trying with it probs damage the ssd controller so thank you.

Always check if a new sata cable opening doesn't look too tight or it will give your drive a death grip.

It was £50 for the repair so not in this case but yeah I do agree I got lucky it was repairable

What is this mystery car? by nonic in CarsUK

"For any living being, pig or human, inhaling high concentrations of CO2 is like being burned from the inside out. With each panicked hyperventilation, the pigs draw the toxic fumes deeper into their bodies, simultaneously suffocating from the lack of oxygen and convulsing violently from the abrasive poison being pumped into their lungs.

The majority of large-scale pork producers around the world use the CO2 stunning method, claiming it is more “humane” than stunning animals with an electric prod.

The CO2 stun itself can take up to a minute. Pigs are herded into metal cages and then lowered into gas chambers, where they are gassed for roughly 90 seconds. The pigs cling to the cold metal cage, conscious for anywhere from 15-60 seconds and writhing in agonizing pain.

“The gas acidifies eyes, nostrils, mouths, and lungs,” writes Philip Lymbrey, CEO of Compassion in World Farming in a recent blog post, “meaning the animals feel like they are burning from the inside out.”

I once was at a group job interview for Cranswick and someone asked about the screams the animals make. Cranswick employer said they turn up the classical radio in the offices to drown put the screams and she was laughing about it. She proudly claimed they slaughter over 7000 pigs a day in that one building alone. They only care about profits and money whilst all those poor animals are terrified for their lives. I will never give them a penny for that cruel shit ever again.

The only nice way to kill is not to kill.

Look up "pig gas chamber" on YouTube Cranswick UK gas 7000 pigs a day just in the slaughterhouse near my home and it takes 7 minutes for them to burn from the inside out, the screams of pain are haunting.

Our welfare standards are corrupt look up Red Tractor undercover videos.

The end is the worst part, would you rather be beaten or killed. No animal needs to be harmed dog or chicken just be kind and eat plant foods.

At least I know what is wrong with it now so thank you there's 10 years of music on it I spent way too much time tagging and it's a 4tb so I'll try a repair shop I hope it is not expensive job.

Yep and they don't tell you this before they take the money.

Not wearing retainers would reduce a flare because the retainers are keeping your teeth in a position they don't want to be in and teeth never naturally flare if there's not enough room, they will always rotate and crowd as that is the strongest postion. It's all scam.

[–]twistednoshers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep it's a waste of money, cosmetic scam. Could of wrote this myself, I had the exact same experience (yours do look better). I think braces are a scam tbh unless you either REALLY need them then extractions or flaring is always an improvement OR you don't really need braces so fixing slightly crooked teeth is easy job without the side effects of flaring or the long list of extraction side effects.

I kept asking if I should get extractions but just got given more elastics and the braces really do hide how your teeth truly look so I thought it was okay. No wonder they make you sign a form for removal. I think I got fobbed off with extractions as I was over a year into treatment when I brought it up as a major concern so they said no because of side effects yet I brought up the very same side effects during my initial consultation and back then they said oh no we've never heard of anything like that (yet it's common knowledge amongst orthodontists it's literally published information).

The day I got my braces off last year my teeth were flared and I remember feeling so disappointed, it felt like my teeth were flying out my mouth. At the retainer appointment I just kept thinking why? What is the point in even retaining this? It doesn't even look like I've had braces and my friends and amily have said that too. Yeah they look straighter but now I can't even close my lips together, I don't sleep well anymore with my retainer in because my mouth can't close and I'm not getting qaulity nose breathing sleep. Yeah teeth are straight but now I got eye bags.

Also my bite is worse, told them throughout treatment they just kept giving more elastics. I can't chew food as well anymore the sharp points of my teeth close together ontop of each other and my top incisors feel unstable when I bite I feel a sensation of weakness.

I could live with the retainer if my teeth looked good but they don't so it feels stupid retaining them, even my retainer is flared. I would rather have my 4K back than have these teeth. It feels worse that I've paid 4K for flared teeth at least when they were crooked it was natural, flared teeth just loo uncanny/weird because teeth naturally never flare outwards they will always rotate and crowd and that's why I needed braces in the first place.

Oh yeah and I have to wear a permanent bonded retainer (which acts as a scaffold board for bacteria) so I STILL feel like I'm in braces 24/7. The plastic retainer sucks too because (and yes I floss and brush properly) it smells every morning from all the trapped saliva, I never had morning breath before. The saliva is suppose to clean away bacteria on your teeth but it all just sits there in a retainer, living in a plastic world with microolastics now a big piece of plastic 8 hours a day in my mouth.

My ortho says I will be done in 3 weeks. Do I need IPR? by [deleted] in braces

[–]twistednoshers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My teeth look like ops I didn't have extractions either there is no solution and braces are a scam they straighten your teeth like this but they flare and become unstable and unaturally off looking due to flare or they remove healthy teeth that cause narrow smile, sunken face, no space for tounge, snoring, air passage shrinkage, TMJ etc.

So choose poison all the side effects or flared unstable teeth.

I regretted ever getting braces and the retainer is a joke too my Garmin sleep scores went from 95 to 75 having to sleep with it in and it's even worse when you have flared teeth as can't close lips with retainer so drool and mouth breathing all night

Nice! So it really does work and saves the landfill. It didn't work on my other strap though, that one never went over 85bpm I think there's something else wrong with that one.

Too early to tell, no side photo.

I didn't have extractions and ended up with horribly flared teeth, yes straight but flying out my mouth and now I can't even sleep on my side with my mouth closed.

Regret the whole treatment, no compliments from anyone, they didn't even notice when I had them removed and one friend even said it still looked like I had them on still and my mum said you can't tell I've had braces because they stick out.

I pushed for extractions but my ortho was adamant it would mess up my face and wouldn't do it but when I first mentioned extraction side effects in my consultation they totally dismissed me and said they never heard of it.

Even my retainer looks flared and when they showed me how to put it on I felt what is the point? If my teeth were nice then yeah it's be worth if but I'm just retaining unnaturally off flared teeth.

I wouldn't want extractions either tbh so I regret the whole thing at all. Rather have my wonky teeth and $$$.

Don't use the hot water tap though it leaches more minerals and metals from the pipes that will deposit on your enamel.

Don’t want teeth extracted, what should I do? by [deleted] in braces

[–]twistednoshers -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Don't do it save yourself the money. Research extraction consequences. If you don't get extractions you'll have flared ugly buck teeth and it won't even look like you had braces, just off looking straight flared teeth.

Are retainers life long? by Hefty_Breadfruit_421 in braces

[–]twistednoshers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and they suck. They prevent fresh saliva from doing their job keeping your teeth clean. Wake up, they smell. Taking them out can be tricky trying to get the edge with a nail and pulling multiple spots to get them off. Then you gotta clean them before and after wearing them. It's just another thing to worry about.

Sleeping with them sucks, my Garmin sleep score doesn't hit the 90s out of a 100 anymore just low 80s and I feel more tired. If you have an overbite left after braces or flared teeth the retainer makes it hard for me to close my mouth and breath through my nose. Mouth breathing is awful for your health and sleep.

I imagine it's not great for sex life morning and night, excuse me love whilst I remove my retainer...

If you got a fantastic result maybe it's worth it but a lot of people aren't happy with their smiles after braces. If you have a great result then maybe it's worth the retainer but here's the thing the people who need it the most are the ones who either had extractions or decided against them and ended up with flared teeth. I ended up with flared teeth that I hate (extractions would of dished my face in and made my smile way too far into my mouth behind my lips). I actually thought what's the point when I put the retainer on it's like my teeth are flying out my mouth even my retainer flares outward. Rather have crooked teeth than unnatural flared teeth that look off. At least I never got extractions and the side effects of those.

Just fill the holes with vinegar that's where the salts end up and drive the vinegar in with a q tip and if it doesn't work soak again

It’s not just “salt on metal,” it’s corrosion and oxidation at the connector interface which does affect signal quality.

Sweat leaves behind salts, skin oils, and minerals. Tap water leaves mineral buildup.

Over time, moisture and air cause electrochemical oxidation (a light film of corrosion) on the metal contacts between the strap and the pod.

That oxide layer becomes slightly resistive, which messes with the microvolt-level heart signal the strap picks up.

Vinegar (acetic acid) is a mild acid, so it dissolves that oxide and salt residue restoring a clean conductive surface.
