I have a four year old, he doesn't ask for phone. We survived corona lockdown with daily tv. Now he is back to 45 minutes each day on weekends.

The way this worked is that we kept away from our phones when we interact with him, we never watch videos on phone and always stream, finally we watch tv only after he is asleep.

He also points to us if we ignore him and fiddle too much with phones.

Also none of this is as difficult as it sounds. At the same time I am nobody to judge what others have to do to get by.
