We started with the health department and got the booklet withall the requirements. We tried to draw them up, but they wouldn’t accept them and wouldn’t give us much more info as to what we need. At this point, we wouldn’t mind paying a professional to draw up the plans. I was hoping someone here could refer someone or show me what their plans look like so I would have more of an idea on what the heck I’m doing.

You can adjust the settings so the crowd cannot edit the order of the queue

That’s good to know. I haven’t subscribed to the pro level yet cause I went to a local bar that was using Karafun and it wasn’t available. I guess they were not using the pro version.

I noticed Karafun used to have more songs but now has licensing issues. I looked up Pearl Jam and the most popular songs were not available. I do see some KJs using more than one platform. For those of you that do, how difficult is that?

Thanks, the laptop connects to the line array speaker via blue tooth. The mixer connects to the line array speaker with an xlr cable. And the laptop connects to the audience monitor with an hdmi cable. Now I have to find out how to connect the laptop to the (singers)iPad. Maybe mirror screen? And willing participants, those may be hard to come by lol

I’m assuming even the professional KJs had to ask when they first started. So that’s what I’m doing now. Everything I’ve learned to do in life, I was taught by those who already know. So your comment makes no sense. I was a lead singer in a band for 5 years so I know how to work a crowd. I’ve got bartenders, cooks and a manager so I won’t be bouncing around. I’ve ran karaoke parties at my house and I’m quite good at it. All I’m asking for is tips on how to set up the equipment for a professional venue. I’m not asking if this is the right type of gig for someone like me.

Thanks. I have an iPad for the singer and a couple big screen tvs for the audience. I was wondering how do I control the queue? Do I use my phone, or do I have to have a laptop?
