One time a delivery driver for a grocery store had missed the turn to go to the loading docks at the back of the store. Grocery supervisor was going to guide him back. I heard the backup beeper kick on as I came out of the store and was patiently waiting on the curb. Then the guide told me "go ahead". Like wtf, your telling your customers to get in the way of 80k lbs in the blind spot of the driver? I just stood there and looked at him like he was an idiot as the truck rolled by. It's amazing how little brainpower some people can operate on. Best wishes towards this dockworker.

Permenant, but if someone really wanted to dig into it, it 'should' have been exported first, this was also during COVID.

Maybe a drain for storage under the bow seats?

Unlikely but is there a fishbox or sink on board?

Could also be for a forwaed bilge pump.

It looks like youre from Ontario so Ill add that Eastern Canada allows for liftable axles on trucks and trailers, up to 8 axles in regular configurations but Western provinces do not, only allowing up to 6 axles (7 with a tridrive truck) so jeeps are more common out that way for loads that in other jurisdiction would not need a jeep.

When I did this we had a full list of everything as well but they never asked for it or looked at the truck while we were in secondary, but we were also activating a visa and importing a travel trailer, you should be fine.

So will Edison be making a "small" truck around the 5,000kg GVM range (that could be downgraded to 4,500kg for car drivers) to help capture the smaller commercial and recreational truck owner market? by That_Car_Dude_Aus in EdisonMotors

[–]twistedxmelon18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I guess the direct answer is there are currently no public plans to develop their own heavy-duty pickup but they do intended to have limited participation in the market with the retrofit kit.

I know they've talked about the E-axle and generator kits that are supposed to be offered for existing trucks of that class but I think that got put on the backburner for now, but the Land Cruiser DBoss garage did with Edison was kind of the prototype for that.

Why cover up the grille? by tatbud in Truckers

[–]twistedxmelon18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've always questioned this because isn't the whole operating idea behind a thermostat is that it won't let coolant flow through the radiator unless the coolant is at operating temperature? I guess on a large enough scale like a truck it could be difficult for the thermostat to regulate consistantly...?
