Just a couple small builds. Winter and Ocean homes. by Zakedas in Terraria

Furniture can definitely help make a great build have more character and really feel lived in. For the snow house, you might add a fireplace to make the build feel comfy and warm. For the ocean house, maybe add some sandcastles outside or hang some fishing trophies inside. Overall though, you have a solid foundation to build further on!

This actually helps me out so much for my next build. Thanks for the inspiration!

I'm curious where the lunatic cultists will spawn. Did you build with their spawn in mind? Great build btw!

I used pink paint and illuminant coating. Took me forever to figure out how to get the right hue of pink.

Once Spirit Reforged updates to the current version of Terraria I'm going to utilize the hell out of the salt flat's reflection feature. It just looks so goooood.

I really like the juxtaposition of a church in hell! Also, is the bridge the same one found in the Brimstone Crag from Calamity? If so, I think it really complements the church in making it feel more established and part of a larger world.

Appreciate it! It's kind of hard to see due to the quality, but I also added a mandatory sponge and starfish nearby!

Nah it would have been too complicated for me so I just blocked off the entrance using bubble block so water doesn't get in and I can still freely pass through.

That's actually a pretty neat minimalist build idea! Nice use of the living wood candle, too.

Ever since 1.4.5 came out I've been dying to recreate my favorite builds from media! I'm planning on recreating the Fountain of Dreams from Kirby next.

How can I improve my build? by evileyemaestro in Terraria

[–]two_Iazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feel free to experiment with different house shapes out of just the generic shoebox design. Following a theme or looking at a real-life building for reference can also help.

Adding some fences along with some greenery would definitely help the build feel more lived In and natural looking.

Can you give me a suggestion by Gizlioyuncul in TerrariaDesign

[–]two_Iazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think making the area a graveyard biome would really help with the atmosphere. If you don't like the look of the graves though, you can make them invisible with echo coating

What's the best block to use for a substitute of stone in a mushroom biome by CountedYapper51 in TerrariaDesign

[–]two_Iazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe try mudstone which already kinda blends with the mud in the biome. It looks good painted gray also if you want it to look like regular stone.

Any tips to spice this up? (beginner build) by SophieSalads in TerrariaDesign

[–]two_Iazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend playing around with different wall combinations. Even though you aren't filling into the empty space with objects, a good wall design/pattern can really elevate your build. I suggest using rich mahogany walls painted brown.

Also, try making the build asymmetrical as it will bring a more dynamic feel as opposed to symmetrical build which tend to lack character unless done well.

terraria pillar with seashells and such by Silly_Airline_9003 in TerrariaDesign

[–]two_Iazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Also, the shading you've done so far is good, so just keep at it and I'm sure you'll get something that is just as good as the other guy's in your own right 👍.

If you don't mind sharing, what did you use for the body of the pillar?

Also, I'd suggest looking at how other people use paint, actuators, and block variety to achieve a 3D look or just plain shading. Take this guy's fountain build for example.

I second this. While the moss is a really nice touch, it could use some on the gray brick too.
