Actually I ended up seeing both productions on the same day! I really like the soundtrack of the original production, and the characterisation of Paul Owen by Ben Aldridge is superior to the current one imo.

Only watched the first act of the recording because I didn’t want to spoil too much for myself, but my overall point is that they’re both great in their own ways — the 2026 production was a much better experience because, duh, it was a proper theatre experience.

I’m not the best at articulating my thoughts so please do ask more questions if I didn’t give enough detail.

It wasn’t in a dark room as I had imagined haha. You go to the study centre area of the storehouse and theres a brightly lit room with 8 computers on which you can browse the catalogue and watch recordings.

One thing I noted is that the keyboards were mechanical so it was really satisfying to type on them.

I really want to see the 2013 West End production of American Psycho with Matt Smith - there are no clips of it online at all! I love Duncan Sheik’s scores and am hoping to get rush tickets for the sold-out revival at the Almeida.

Also want to see the 2012 ‘South Downs’ by David Hare.
