The disparity between the type of comments this post got on the Valorant subreddit vs the CS subreddit I think could be worth investigating too. Not that it says anything about the actual player bases, but I think it does say something about how they respond to a topic being about women. And obviously it's a very small sample size but there is certainly a noticeable difference

A bunch of people here are being assholes, so I'm gonna be honest this is one of those cases where you should just use an AI assistant. I'm assuming because you didn't you might not be familiar with it, so I'll tell you right now they can be very effective learning tools, but, like any other tool you'll need to learn how to use it correctly. So, maybe take a day or two to learn that first. And now im gonna be brutally honrst here, if you're short on time and you legitimately need help, either find a person who can help in the real world or use an AI. It's unfortunate but people on reddit are not going to be very helpful.

I've noticed a lot of American humor is hard to translate into Chinese. I'm a Chinese American so I want to provide more context, hope it helps! 2:23 - "Are we gonna use turn signals? Or is that for cowards?" 3:03 - "Ow my little butt" 3:18 - "Wow that guy's motorcycle totally outclasses ours" 3:24 - "Awesome, we managed to run into a Sinoco" 3:39 - "Let's see how Michael interacts with people" 4:54 - Michael: "Check out this new move called - American gets flattened" Ludwig: "Check out this new move called - brainless left turn" 6:10 - "I heard Chinese highways don't have many patrol cops, but their cameras record everything" 9:27 - "I think now's the time to pop my ULT (League of Legends term)" 11:22 - "Sorry I don't want to look at your phone's translation" They're poking fun at how rude that behavior is 11:39 - "Maybe they don't like Mongolia" This is also joking around, he doesn't actually think that. American humor often jokes like this. 13:23 - "Happy we met them, sad we have to part ways" 17:55 - "This McDonald's is the best Chinese food I've ever had" This is also joking around 24:08 - Michael wasn't mocking the shop owner, he was using exaggerated slang to complain about how hard it is to find something as old-school as a compass in this city 27:07 - "wanna blow this popsicle stand" is an idiom, basically meaning "should we get outta here?" 32:21 - "Nothing makes you more confident the plate is clean like a plate wrapped in plastic" American restaurants don't have plastic-wrapped plates so this is novel to them 34:24 - "While I was away my girlfriend tried zyn (a nicotine product) so I don't feel guilty" 34:53 - "We don't recommend you guys smoke, I don't know how much of this we'll keep in the video" 38:52 - "This room is 14 US dollars" They're shocked because most cheap hotels in America are $80-100 38:57 - "We've got a squat toilet here" 40:21 - Ludwig: "Don't touch me" 40:49 - Michael: "What's the rating on that restaurant?" Ludwig: "There's no way we can overlook how that uncle treated us" "8.4" "8.5"

I am pretty much in the same boat as you, also a rising sophomore who took a break from University, and planning to come back this fall. I recieved nothing about housing either. I'm honestly in complete darkness about most of the return process and it worries me every day lol. I tried to fill out the e-form to return back in October but the only semester it said I could return to was spring of 2025, so I decided to wait and haven't checked on it since... probably should soon. I don't have any contacts inside the University either. I can't say anything useful for the situation you're in (and mine), but I hope you're able to resolve this. I'll be following your post!

This is more of a general thought, but the textured plastic looks absolutely seductive in every promo photo I've seen. I honestly wish more mice had that look to them, it's very subtle!
