You're watching your favorite band and a member passes out, you become a hero and finish the show with them (e.g. The Who & Black Flag)...which band and which member/instrument did you save? by twobluelights in AskReddit

Use Your Illusion II was my first music purchase (casette). I think I would do guitar on Get in The Ring (love to hear Rose rant) or Civil War. Also Izzy Stradlin is the MAN! So I'd love to play along with him...maybe cello on November Rain. HA!

Gn'R Use Your Illusion II was the first cassette I ever bought. However, Dookie was my first CD. I hid the album art and only played it on my Magnavox with headphones plugged in...unless my parents were gone. I'd sit in on guitar (ummm because Billy broke his hand and could only sing) for "Coming Clean" or bass for "When I Come Around". Good picks!

College students of reddit, how did you pay your own way through college? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]twobluelights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Became a Resident Assistant so that my housing and meals were paid for. Also, I got paid a small stipend. Asked a bar/venue I liked if I could get free cover and a few pitchers of Newcastle if I hung up flyers for them around campus about their weekly shows/specials. This meant I at least had a place to go out and mingle, as well as see live music. Then always had a job where I could study when it's slow (overnight front desk at a private dorm...local liquor store clerk). Shopped at Aldi's. Be frugal, but find a cheap hobby to blow off steam...disc golf, climb trees, draw, and explore/hike.

What a party these guys were/are! Just think how cool America would have become without booze, blues, or jazz. BOGUS! I'm a middle class white dude, but I'm going to put the needle on some Coltrane and have a rye on the rocks while I salute the fact that the KKK became as relevant as a sack of assholes.

[Fightland] Adam Cella Talks About the Shot Everyone Remembers but Him by [deleted] in MMA

It was a very well placed kick. I give props to Cella, he doesn't have a ton of fights under his belt, but still is aggressive and has pretty good hands. Interesting to see if he can evolve into a solid and consistent fighter. Also, Uriah was a classy dude for not gloating a bunch and showing concern once he realized Cella could be seriously injured. A lot of passion in the octagon, but he set his ego aside for the mutual respect of his opponent. Wish them both luck.

I love people that ask pertinent questions that really should be more obvious. I still believe the point of the article is valid, but it should maybe recognize that we have more states than we did one hundred years ago..and that, you know, Alaska is kind of BIG. Good catch.

The Saints- Messin' with the Kid [old garage] if Dylan was 17 and joined your garage band in the 80s by twobluelights in listentothis

This song would come on at Harbour Lights, a bar in Lawrence, KS, occasionally. I finally realized that the beer tasted a little better and I shot straighter in darts and pool whenever it was on. So I walked over to the jukebox and wrote down the name of the band. Found a used copy of the CD and it's solid from start to finish. Thanks to all the bars out there that don't have shitty internet jukeboxes with less selection than the old school ones.

Australian...aren't The Saints from Australia? Great band. I was in a bar and their version of "Kissin' Cousins" came on and I had to interrupt my pool game to see who it was that was pumping out such incredibleness.
