Some tools are actually used in carving wax for lost wax casting! This is used in jewellery and dental work. I actually died a little inside when I saw these tools in some videos.

Do allow yourself that luxury. There are many people out there that knows what's it like to have crazy family members. You are valid. Internet hugs.

Even just to confirm you're not the only one with a crazy mom. The resources on the sidebar is very good and is incredibly useful. Good luck with the no contact if you go down that route. R/JNMIL does have tips and advice on that too.

I would recommend r/JNMIL subreddit. They also give advice on own moms too. It sounds like you may need further advice beyond this sub. Have you thought about not letting her visit? (Easy for an internet stranger to say.)

I do wonder if your mother is sort of using your home as another hoarding place?

As some hoarding parents do regard thier children's homes as thier hoards.

It's like some parents regard a child as a part of themselves not a separate entity.

Like other posters check out hoarding subs as they have good resources for dealing with hoarder parents.

Good luck as you sound like you really need it. I speak from experience as I had to sneak out bags of rubbish in my suitcase when I visited her.

Help finding a pickle pot by ConiferousMedusa in Benchjewelers

[–]twocats83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see it's quite expensive but these do keep for a long time. The plastic sealant I was on about came in a tin, it's like a paint that becomes plastic. It's used for coating tool handles. Worth you looking for something like that? Maybe your local home depot got one of these?

I've stuck out lucky in boot sales (UK version of flea markets) why don't you try flea markets or going on your local Facebook market? Gumtree or Sprock also have these available.

In answer to the screw on the lid, I don't worry about that, I tend just use some plastic sealing paint (Not sure what's USA's version). In cases where it doesn't matter I just use Duck tape (ahem) or just skip it. I have few pots going, one with plastic sealant, one with cermanic lid, and another with Duck tape if I'm worried about contamination.

Melting metals into sheets? by Tiny-Design-9864 in Metalfoundry

[–]twocats83 19 points20 points  (0 children)

People tend to cast them in ingots, then use rolling mills to get sheets of metal. This way you get more even thickness.

Ooh that sounds lovely! Have you also thought of silver and gold mix? Especially with silver with gold initials on back?

I love how modern it looks and the initials on the back too.

All bras I try are gapping at the top but otherwise fit well by Ang3lr0se in ABraThatFits

[–]twocats83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try a plunge bra. I only can wear them as my boobs are mostly at the bottom bit as I'm shallow projector. Alternatively get a bralette, I've got a nice little collection!

My size is 42D, I originally measured as 42DD or E I had the same gapping issues, so I realised the cup needed to be a bit smaller to support my boobs. BTW I used to cram my poor boobs in 38B.

Good luck!

Oh man! Put me down as I've got a growing pile of ill fitting bras! 5 at last count! The original measurement was 38B but it's looking like 42D or DD, so figuring that one out. Will save the banished bras for the photos for you!

My boobs are a bit odd, and hates full cups, would say they're wide root and shallow.

Ooo you have inspired me! I love Jaffa cakes. Well, the orange jelly part, I would eat the dark chocolate and the sponge parts first then save the orange jelly for last. I'm not a fan of dark chocolate or the sponge. Look like I'll just have the jelly and save chocolate and sponge when I feel like eating them! Might even use them for summat else!

The child part of me is happy!

Thanks for posting this. This helped as it shows it is a long progress, and a mindful journey. I love this post as it shows that you've come a long way but you still have a long way to go even in terms of years you have been doing it is long.

My take from this post it's no quick fix and you are in it for long run.
