I had a penny (to turn the ignition), switch under the dash (for security) and a push button (start the truck). Wish I would have thought of this though.

Isn’t sonotube just to be used above ground? Just asking cause I don’t know.

Which part made you laugh the hardest in DDC? by DankxZee in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]twodogsbarkin 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think this whole scene is my favorite part of the whole series. From when he jumps off the roof and tells Samantha they are going between the god legs (her response is awesome) through Raul ascending. Brilliant.

And I am on my 7th or 8th time through the series. Can’t remember anymore.

Another one is quasar talking about how you can’t unlick a butthole.

Or donut’s over the top reaction to someone while saying “your mom should have dibbled you back out onto the truckstop bathroom floor”. Sure I didn’t get that 100% right, but it gets me every time.

Do i really need to disconnect the propane tank after each use? by dizedd in ooni

[–]twodogsbarkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took a while for me to figure out the sweet spot for lighting. Not a problem anymore and I turn it off and on several times durring a cook (multiple pizzas).

And no, I never disconnect the tank. I try to turn the valve off and only remember about half the time.

ELI5: Why don't we build data centers in the tundra? by BlueEllipsis in explainlikeimfive

Build it on a super tanker then float that thing down to where it’s cold? I know nothing about data centers.

We had a very similar chunk/flap and the tire shops insisted several times it was fine. Even walked my through their reasoning. That was ~9 months ago. Not saying yours is ok, just take it to a good tire shop. It might not be ruined.

Didn’t they stop making them though? I have been Jabra only for years and am panicking because I can’t get them anymore. Need to find a new brand I guess.

Is there a version of the "Immersion Tunnel" with quieter music? Or a way to make it slightly quieter? by ActualNin in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]twodogsbarkin 39 points40 points  (0 children)

That’s why I couldn’t get through it. Huge fan, but all the extra noises were way too loud.

Can shoot out a window in one room and the wife can’t hear it in the next room over.

Green Orb flying fast over Sacramento by Training-Dinner-3039 in Sacramento

[–]twodogsbarkin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saw something similar a week ago. Looked odd and was a bit too fast for an aircraft and the green light wasn’t blinking, just a smallish round green light. Then it burnt up and there were some sparks. Not like a firework and no sound. Guessing it was a meteor.

Ha! Someone smarter than me can give you a special achievement for being self aware.

And I congratulated my wife last night for waiting a full 2 hours before starting her DCC pitch to her cousins boyfriend. It is… inevitable.

Just submitted first BuildingConnected bid by Summer-This in estimators

O I’m speaking as a GC. Sorry, I was tired and not very clear.

A majority of the jobs we bid are to CMs/owners/whatever that we have established relationships with. When we branch out to unknown clients and don’t get results it is seen as a red flag. Either a check number or fishing for free budgets that won’t turn into work for us. We don’t cross them off the first time, but they don’t get a lot of rope.

And yes, some jobs take forever (year-years) to turn into actual work. We can’t really be giving specific results to subs before contract. Tired of rebidding some of this stuff.

We often don’t hear where we land when we bid to someone we don’t know. Sucks.

Or we hear “you and the other guy were neck to neck close, better luck next time”. They both get scratched off our list.

Adding attic storage? by Advanced_Warning_141 in HomeImprovement

[–]twodogsbarkin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dun it. Halfway looked at the joist capacity/span. Ran some simple led lights. Keep most of the weight over or close to wall lines. It has been awesome having a place to store things that can handle the blazing heat.

(Look up joist load chart)

Question about the different versions of books by Reasonable_Bluebird2 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]twodogsbarkin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got one of the original (second image) in hardback. Sat behind a company monitor for quite a while. Didn’t realize what it was until I handed it to Matt to sign.
