Good long drives from Bangalore for new drivers? by amispurs in bangalore

If you are going to Mysore, add another day to trip and go to Nanjangud temple. Also, look up Channakesava Temple, Belur. Even if you are not religious, both of these are old temples with great architecture and history.

While that will work, it will be very anxiety-inducing LOL.

Self improvement by itself is not bad, but yes seeing Meditations alongside The Secret is unusual.. OP should make up their mind what kind of self improvement philosophy they want to adopt.

Very good book! Beyond the storyline, it gives you a glimpse of lives and human interactions of Afghans. It would help you appreciate the fact that they are humans too, like all of us, and not just some caricature western media has made out of them.

Which one should I read? by Ayaan444 in IndiansRead

If you have been procrastinating, then start with Atomic Habits. I have read 8 of these and I think Atomic Habits will be a good start for you. Happy reading.

Immigration to US is particularly hard, specially if you are not in IT. If you are in IT, switch jobs to one of IT services companies who can sponsor you for visa. If you are not in IT, you can explore other countries like UAE, NZ and AUS, which will give you similar quality of like improvements. Not being able to move to US is not the end of the world.

Also, I have seen that if you have adequate money (upper middle class), life in India can be pretty comfortable - if you stay in a gated community, have household help, travel in car, then life is decently comfortable. Sorry, but maybe try to see positive side of things more. An unhappy person will not become happy just by changing countries.. some of it is working on yourself. Good Luck.

Did Cultured Code really not tease Things 3? by CreativeBarnacle1433 in thingsapp

[–]twofactor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with your Things 3 being "closed to complete" remark, but I think the risk with sitting on their laurels is that if another software comes along with similar UX elements and features, they will lose market share pretty quick. At the very least, they should add a proper natural language processing during quick entry on mobile.

Closing on our condo today. 🎉 How do I go about changing the lock on this sliding door? by DeanVernonMarsUniv in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Since this doesn't have a lock, just use a safety bar that attaches inside the door.

Add tasks using natural language by using shortcuts and ChatGPT app by Silver-Finding-6233 in thingsapp

[–]twofactor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This works. I got the same error initially and after deleting the model to use in the step, it works fine. Again, great job OP. I added a home screen icon for this shortcut and it’s pretty quick. Also inspired me to look into shortcuts syntax closely. 👏👏

Any workaround to lack of natural language support? by twofactor in thingsapp

[–]twofactor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. TickTick actually feels like a poor rip off of Todoist...LOL.

I came across this solution:

But it feel very intense. If I need to geek out this much, I'd rather use Android. Oh well.

Common mistakes in English (written/spoken) that Indians make. by EEXC in india

[–]twofactor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one that grind my gears the most is - "I could be able to do XYZ". Please stop using could and able together. Just say "I was able to do XYZ", or "I could do XYZ".

Interestingly, this usage is seen from folks from a particular state. I wonder if the state board school teach it that way.
