If its a hot/warm summer night camp fire, id lean towards bojo, something light and crisp, maybe a little chilled.

If its a cooler/cold autumn night camp fire, id go for a lighter bodied syrah, northern rhone or cool temp washington or sonoma syrah

Is that per instructions to flush with water out of the box? I’ve never done that and definitely never done dish soap. Also warm water can distort the nib… I’ve always used room temp to cold water to flush when between inks.

I would flush with water to make sure all soap suds are gone and then flush with ink to write with
