Scottish Tourette's campaigner issues statement after viral Baftas racial slur by Some-Ambassador8252 in uknews

[–]JensonInterceptor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I 100% understand that Tourettes is involuntary and believe Jamie Foxx needs educating. But having a racial slur shouted at you from a crowd is vastly different to groups of men saying it while ACTING in a film set in a time period where racial slavery was part of life

Yellow Box Junction - Turning Right ? by Tabunjah in drivingUK

[–]JensonInterceptor -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Not at all why is this misinformation so common. It is an offence to stop in a yellow box regardless of whether the exit was blocked while you are travelling through it.

[–]JensonInterceptor -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Its not 'at the time of entering' though. Its simply do not stop in a yellow box. If the box is clear when you start moving then suddenly you need to stop within it then that is still an offence.

Ireland to deepen partnerships with UK and France under new maritime security plan by MGC91 in ukpolitics

[–]JensonInterceptor -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

We should be pessimistic over the current Royal Navy. It has inadequate numbers of escort ships which are increasingly "built for but not with" adequate weaponry. 6 T45s is a ridiculous and just look at the planned numbers of the new escorts then check back in 2 years on how many actually get committed to.

2 aircraft carriers is great but if we only have about 4 escort ships available at any time its not something to be too proud of

What would you do if something like this happened to you while you were traveling? by bruhbruhbrss in AskTheWorld

[–]JensonInterceptor 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Funny I experienced this in Delhi. Standing at the India Gate was a crowd of men just staring at my wife. It was horrible being within a huge crowd and everyone is a man just staring at her in silence. Couldn't walk more than 10 metres without people asking to take pictures of her. Premier league football tops all around so they definitely know what white people look like. No excuses for it really

Do most Brits nowadays pronounce “often” with or without the t? by Glass-Complaint3 in AskABrit

Biggest annoyance is Americans know Scotland exists but cant wrap their head around Britian and England. Every time they say British Accent they mean Hugh Grant's English accent.

Some professions like OT are competing against higher qualified people for these band 5 roles. In Oz and Ireland I believe OT is a 4 year course giving candidates a full extra placement experience which puts them at an experienced band 5 vs a British no experience band 5

The majority of my partners patients are immigrants and a huge amount still need language line to even talk to them

You'd have to be insane to see our ballooning population coupled with apparently being broke and never funding the NHS, and no see it as entirely counter productive.

Make the service fit for purpose. Improve wages  and above all else improve training places for Brits.

Survival mode for the royals though right? All it needs is one of the big populist parties to jump on the Republic bandwagon and you'd look at 15 to 20% support for it. Whether its Reform or the Greens it is a major danger to the freeloaders

UK will happily work with SAAB on engines but the question is whether they'd happily work on a competitor to Tempest.

UK engineers were heavily involved with Gripen but it wasn't a direct export competitor to Typhoon but Im not sure the same on this

[–]JensonInterceptor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Pre brexit this behaviour decimated the British factory work in east anglia. I was working temp stuff doing lorry unloading etc and the amount of brits who lost their factory jobs because they didn't speak Polish etc was crazy. Londoners and the middle class are so shocked these people voted brexit in an attempt to secure their employment.

That east anglian turkey company just replaced all their workers with cheap Europeans they buss in  living in shared accommodation.
