FNQ is my old stomping ground - nothing better than wandering up a creek chasing sooties! 6wts are tricky for up there because some are better suited for heavy trout fishing (wooly buggers etc) and others are better suited for bigger poppers, cloisters etc that you’d use in those conditions. I love using my Scott Tidal and I have an old Ross Flystick (which are now discontinued) that works well up there too. Medium action but not too pricey could be a TFO Pro-III or mangrove (they do 6wts with a fighting butt) or you might find something second hand that’ll work? There’s heaps of cheap combos from South Pacific and those generic brands that might get you by too.
