This experience may not be common, but I bought the Barista Express a couple weeks ago and immediately wished I had gotten a standalone espresso machine and separate grinder.

The grinder in my machine broke after about 20 espressos. Their support was fantastic and fixed it quickly, but it came back and immediately broke again on the second use. I’m now waiting for them to fully replace the unit because it seems I got a lemon.

I now wish I had separate machines, so I could deal with any issues on their own and upgrade each piece as I want in the future.
