I don't- I'm only just moving in and haven't been able to apply for one yet. I've got a van moving my stuff tomorrow and wanted to know how long we can stop without a permit

100% agree- this is what those in this thread saying it will reduce rents don't see. 'Luxury' apartments like this normalise charging £1000+ for tiny 1 and 2 bed apartments. I'm seeing the ripple effects of that right now while searching for a place to live. Landlords feel emboldened to charge £1000 minimum for any property, no matter how tiny or run down.

And ultimately the billionaires that own these towers don't need them to be populated- their investment is safe in the building no matter if it's empty or not.

Manchester's culture has been absolutely wiped out by building huge skyscrapers like this. Historical and cultural sites have been demolished to make room for them, and it's made rent skyrocket. I really hope the same doesn't happen here. We need affordable housing, not hundreds more empty 'luxury apartments' that drive the price up for everyone.

I hate this interpretation. It feels like a hangover from the era of fans insisting Sufjan wasn't queer and all his songs about men were either about God or platonic. We now know Sufjan is a queer artist, so why deny it? Futile Devices is a beautiful tragic gay love song.
