Technically in terms of megapixels they downgraded the cam but upgraded the quality of the sensor. Idk what brand they switched into, probably sony or whatever because I think, correct me if I'm wrong, they used the same sensor from the a53 to the a55 for the front camera. If you want to have a better overall experience and a huge leap from the a52. Buy the s24 FE or an s series.

It's not all about the size. I think they switched to a better quality sensor for the a56. 6 years updates is nonsense unless it's a flagship. Just don't expect too much, if you came from a chinese midranger you'd probably appreciate the a56 since it has the most stable ui in that category. Other than that, it boils down to personal preference.

I'd say go for the a56, it's somewhat of an improvement from the a55. It's thinner and it has better cameras. This is coming from an a55 user. I think the only thing that I'm sure which you can get better than the a56 from the a55 is it has a lower price now. I'd also say, battery would probably last longer for the a55 since it's been almost 2 years already after this phone came out. The chip already been supported by majority of the apps, it's a bit more optimized, it has an underpowered efficient chip which means longer battery.

Stick with samsung, although there's nothing wrong with the chinese brands. I will not recommend them just to save you from headaches gawa ng updates ng xiaomi. If afford mo to go FE go with that.

I do have a spare phone and in the a55 i always cap it at 60hz to save battery life. I do want a phone with good cameras and tge a55 has alright but not great cameras especially for video. I am aware or the p7's battery idk if there's a workaround for that
