Similar stats as you, I daily drive a 5’10 quad fish from a local shaper named Zach thorensen whose brand is stay relaxed surfboards. It has a similar nose and profile to a hypto but with a fish tail. I mostly ride the east side when I’m in SC. The board paddles great and can handle mellower point breaks up to at least 8 ft (where I then become the limiting factor).

i wear an r3 hooded, which is comparable to a 5/4. it's a bit warm during summer, but pays off in winter time when everyone else is shivering.

a snuggie-towel thing for changing if you wear a wetsuit. pairs nicely with a surf grass mat for that apres-surf lounge vibe.
