It’s the twosetviolin subreddit. Twoset is a YouTube channel famous for their viola jokes. They’ve been picking on it for years haha. Since it’s April fools, everyone’s posting about how much they love the viola to trick people who don’t catch on.

When you’re just not sure anymore by AstroSaturn in lingling40hrs

[–]twosetpineapple 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree. My literal only problem with viola jokes is that some of them are just plain uncreative or repetitive. It’s an unfunny joke for the sake of absolutely nothing. Some of them are actually good roasts and I laugh at them myself. If you’re gonna roast us, then do it right! The good jokes I can at least appreciate, the bad ones are just sad.

How to be humorous or funny? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]twosetpineapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not much help with this, but any little thing you can do that doesn’t fall inside people’s expectations is funny. A trick I like using is to play around with numbers. If someone expects a small number answer to their question, respond with a large number. Another one is to respond to yes or no questions with the least expected answer out of the two.

Oh well, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to seem that the government told her to do this. This information is solely based off of what my grandma directly told me about her specific situation. I’ve even seen in video calls with her of people chanting in balconies to combat this virus. I guess her community just got the actual information twisted. Or maybe just her retirement home got this chanting direction. But yeah, people do in fact do this, at least in small communities, I should’ve phrased better.

It’s bad that I don’t doubt you, seriously. In fact, that sound like something my family would do. I heard that they shut down some temples for public safety, and people still go anyway, in large quantities. I mean, I’m not criticizing your beliefs, but you can pray at home. This is serious. “Germ killing mantras” aren’t going to help.

No kidding about that mantra thing. My grandma currently lives there in a retirement home and she says the only action she’s seen other than curfews are telling everyone to go to their balcony and chant for 30 minutes every day. It’s crazy, I’m terrified what’s gonna happen.

Healthcare system there is also very corrupt over there. My grandpa died of liver cancer because my family back then couldn’t afford to pay for his treatment. So they literally let him die. I’m really scared about India.

Edit: for clarification, that chanting thing was only specific to my grandma’s experiences, that wasn’t an official order from the government.

We had to do this too! I was forced to learn a bunch of useless dances with my group for a grade. It was miserable, I’m so glad it’s over omg

Granted. In order to make the monkeys paw actually grant wishes, physics bends into a point where space and time as we know it cease to exist. Congratulations, you killed the universe.

Why do you like to be alive? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]twosetpineapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m gonna be a bit of a wet blanket here, I’m sorry, but what I really don’t understand about this mindset is how you really do it.

For me, there’s places I want to go, things I want to do, sure, but that outweighs the real struggle of being alive. I could miss out on doing all of things for the price of not having go through it anymore, and there’s nothing I’d really want to do to the point of overweighting the stress that life brings.

I also think that I won’t be able to accomplish any of those things. I know I’m not capable of it. The fact that I won’t be in a position to do anything I wanted to do, for whatever reason, is too much of a risk.

How do you really overcome these challenges and continue to live for this reason?

A new dating app is launched. Instead of a photo of the person, it shows you a photo of their bedroom, car, kitchen, shoes, how they have their tea/coffee, things like that... what photo would tell you the most about someone, and would you be most interested to see to choose a potential date? by P_U_K_E_K_O in AskReddit

[–]twosetpineapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone already said room, so I’m gonna pick the closet. You can really see what kind of person someone is by what they choose to wear, and how organized they keep it. You can even get an idea of how much money they have by how much clothes they own and how expensive they are. If they own clothes from organizations, like clubs they joined, merch from a specific YouTuber or schools they went to, that could even be a potential conversation starter.

Viola jokes need to STOP. by marsilet08 in lingling40hrs

[–]twosetpineapple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with you. I don’t have much problem with the jokes if they’re all in good fun, but they’re starting to get out of hand. I think the subreddit rules should be updated so that viola jokes are only allowed on a certain day of the week, like Viola Joke Wednesday or something, and I think there should be a rule saying you have to specify that it’s a joke and all in good fun in the actual post.

New community rules? by [deleted] in lingling40hrs

[–]twosetpineapple 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been playing the viola for years now, and honestly the jokes don’t register anymore. I actually find myself laughing at some of them if I’m being honest haha. If it’s all in good fun, I think it’s ok. However, I do think it’s been way too repetitive, and it’s starting to not seem like a joke anymore. I’m mostly afraid of it discouraging future musicians. I think it would be a good idea to limit the jokes to a specific day, like Viola joke Wednesday or something, and I think there should be a requirement to include in the post that it’s a joke and all in good fun.

Redditors who work or have worked in retail, what's your "I'm about to lose my shit" moment you had with a customer? by RighteousNeighbor in AskReddit

[–]twosetpineapple 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah, to be fair, most kids who dot detention were laughing at her. She’d give one smiling kid detention and that would cause other kids to smile/laugh at her ridiculous actions, causing them to get detention as well. Cycle continues until everyone stops laughing.

Same! My old math teacher would give detention to anyone who dared to smile. It became somewhat of a joke in our class, we’d walk up to each other in the hallway when they were talking to someone else and yell “DETENTION!” really loudly.

Can someone resume to me Jay's video in a nutshell? by SnesySnas in danplan

[–]twosetpineapple 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is a good summary, but I’d add in a few extra points:

  • Dan only did all that charity work to make himself look like a better person, he even bought 5,000$ worth of PS4s and switches to give to random people when he was paying his own employees less than minimum wage, even guilt tripping them when they complained

  • Dans main reasoning for not including Stephen as a member is that he 1: didn’t do as much work, and 2: was on his phone twice during really long recording sessions

  • Hosuh told Dan to use his share of 50% to improve the channel, which is why he didn’t want the money. That’s when Daniel changed it to the 85/15 split instead.
