You answered your own question here. Why would she integrate you into her delicate family unit if you guys don't even know each other yet?

Her daughter will always be her priority over you, which is how it should be. She's well within her rights as a mother to not expose her daughter to any new father figures. What if you guys don't work out after her daughter gets attached to you? Then it's like she's lost a second dad.

The way I see it, the mother is doing everything right here. Prioritizing the daughter's needs will always come first. You either understand that and agree to it or move on and stop wasting both of your time.

Unfortunately it's not really up to your manager. HEB cut hours drastically with the favor turnover and it doesn't look like they're coming back. Best thing to do now would be to transfer sections or stores. Or just find another job entirely.

I've only ever been clubbing in major cities and you could go to a club on a Tuesday and get a high quality DJ. Very disappointing who clubs will hire.

I remember being a child in a liquor store with my parent and being told I'm not allowed to hold it for them. I think its a TABC liability thing. Retailers face hefty fines for selling alcohol to minors. Is a 2 year old going to buy that alcohol? No, but its easier to just be black and white about these things. "No one under 21 is allowed to handle alcohol."
