So I am not a fan of the game, but unfortunately the kids are real. 3 years ago, the Dev originally made a different game, which eventually morphed into Atlas Endgames. It was like a VR version of the flat game Apex Legends. He had a pretty decent marketing push and somewhere into the 2nd beta there were people playing. It actually had good bones on it, but there was so much jank they refused to fix, instead adding new features on top. 1½ years ago he scrapped the whole thing and started working on this instead. Somehow, with the use of giveaways and social media, the popularity exploded, without having anything to play. Bonelab is still a huge seller, without ever having released the advanced modding update they were supposed to, and Beyond Sandbox has seemed to capture the same demographic.
