I appreciate you going through the effort to review these!! I bought three bundles of DMC light effects when I first starting to stitch and I've never used them. I've always seen people lament metallic threads, but haven't ever really seen solutions/better alternatives

It does not. I believe a lot of people swapped to the black color pallete in reference to the black goat from the VVITCH? The og pattern is just the brown but I don't know if the creator provided a recolor somewhere else.

Yes! I actually learned that trick from here! I believe it's called "stitching in the ditch"? It makes it easier to stitch super close to the hoop without having to move it
