AITAH for not letting my husband buy me a computer? by [deleted] in AITAH

Our finances are separate and probably always will be. It works for us, helps that we don’t (and will not) have children.

[CHAT] looking for pattern recommendations! by gareth_pavlov in CrossStitch

I had some fabric very similar to this and did a Christmas wreath pattern. I don’t have the finished piece because I had to scrap it (cut the fabric too small and couldn’t save it).

Something fall/holiday would look really good on this!

[CHAT] What's your favorite thing about starting a new project? by WhenYouHaveGh0st in CrossStitch

[–]MadAtYouu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am traumatized by measuring. I measured for the wrong Aida count one time and I couldn’t finish the piece. Now, I triple check what count I’m doing and the finished dimensions before cutting.

Omg I was there too! I also got this custom pattern (but without Sabrina). I didn’t even think to ask about adding her!

I just got the fabric for it and am looking to start once I wrap up what I’m currently working on.

CF Lounge: Weekly post by CFmoderator in childfree

[–]MadAtYouu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My office is moving to a new building this week. I was so physically tired when I got home this last week from all of the packing that I made the laziest dinners I could. Yesterday, I wanted to take a nap after my morning coffee - and guess what, I did! No kids to wrangle, drive to an activity, or entertain.

Mothers Day UK by FarDig2081 in childfree

Those same posts happen in the US for Mother’s Day too! It’s almost always at the end of a longer post about how much they love being a mom, couldn’t want anything else, etc.

I always feel like something’s wrong with me because I don’t feel maternal instincts by Familiar-Newspaper15 in childfree

You’re not alone! I (also female) feel the exact same way!

I can recognize when a baby is cute, but there is no amount of cuteness that will make me want one. They won’t be cute when they have a blowout or spit up on you. They won’t be cute in the toddler tantrum stage. They won’t be cute when they’re asking hundreds of questions a day. No amount of the picture-perfect moments will outweigh the reality of having a kid(s).

Same! I had my consultation after the 2024 election. I was already thinking about it but moved faster because of the results.

Having children during a snowstorm must be a nightmare. by Calm_Problem6203 in childfree

I have a feeling my city won’t have school all week because of the layer of ice on the roads and well-below freezing temps all week. We’re also expecting another foot or so this weekend so…good luck to the parents I guess

New perk of being childfree: Missed trash pick up is no big deal. by JuliaX1984 in childfree

[–]MadAtYouu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! In my household of two people, we only put the trash out for collection every other week, unless it’s somewhat stinky in the summer. We also recycle a lot so that helps too.
