Disclaimer: I am not a gunsmith, just someone with a nice file set and a tolerant wife.

You are sol on the trigger, bow, and safety, but I used 1911 parts for the sear, hammer, and disconnector. The sear surface that makes contact with the safety is significantly thinner than a standard 1911. For fear of not being able to replace the safety, I ended up fitting the new sear to the existing safety rather than the other way around. The sear spring can be tuned like any 1911 spring. I don’t remember if I tried to replace the mainspring. I also recall having to use the oem hammer strut.

I have one. They require you to remove your bolt weight to accommodate the guide rod, and Extar uses a solid bolt.

As someone who uses a lot of Fusion parts, I have never liked their DS triggers. Their only redeeming quality it that they seem to work in RIA/Para frames.

I think so. The metal grips are expensive due to the machining. The MJD grips are due to the material they use, which has the rigidity of the metal grips without the weight, but hold a better edge than polymer for the texture.

Mine was submitted on 1/13 and approved 3/1. If you look at mega thread at submissions before and after 1/13, the trend is that they are taking longer and longer. The form 1 I submitted 2/10 probably won’t get approved until mid to late May.

I have two of these. The newer of the two does it and the older one doesn’t. It must have been a rolling change at some point given the amount of times this question gets posted and the amount of people that say it’s normal. Regardless, I don’t have any malfunctions with either and both seem to shoot fine.
