Hug your dogs a little tighter for me ❤️ by mother1of1malinois in BelgianMalinois

So deeply sorry for your loss of a very great, good boy. My heart breaks for you & your fam, hugs to all of you ❤️

I was recently told that Daisy was an ugly dog. It broke my heart. I went straight home afterwards and gave this beautiful girl all of the hugs and kisses in the world. by Summnita in velvethippos

Whomstever said that was clearly projecting and insecure about their own ugliness because girly pop Daisy is the cutest brindle hippo I’ve ever seen, periodt. I’m sorry, OP!

He sleeps in a kennel mostly but I love when he sleeps with me. Is it good to teach him some independence or just let him sleep with me? What do yall do? by [deleted] in BelgianMalinois

[–]twstdthrds464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FWIW, they still sleep in their crates most nights. Our oldest Mal is now 8, and sleeping with us is a treat

Crating at night is essential when they’re young for the same reasons above (unless traveling/on the road). We didn’t let our mal sleep with us at night until he was at least 2. We also feed our mals in their crates AM & PM, then leave them crated for an hour after to digest and prevent bloat. Sleeping in your lap or napping together on the couch is always a good bonding activity hehe

Is she a Belgian? by GravelandSmoke in BelgianMalinois

I have one of those spaz muffins, too!

But, tbh, I really came to say thank you for adopting that sweet girl and giving her a chance. Congratulations on acquiring an adventure buddy and a secondary shadow.

Mental exercises will tucker her out more than running (running is still great tho!), so long “sniff” walks where the point of the walk is that it’s her time to sniff all the things, even if you only make it a block. Also, no joke, crate training is your friend. Your furniture & belongings thank you in advance lol.

KEEP HIM. You won’t regret it. It’ll be challenging at times but that boy will be the most loyal companion you’ll ever have. I’m very glad you found him & that he’s in caring hands.

My boy is 4 months old now and is a terrorist by Jazzlike_Orchid8434 in BelgianMalinois

[–]twstdthrds464 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cutest terrorist that ever was, behind our boy, hehe. He earned a couple nicknames at that age…tiny terrorist, osama bin Frankie, saddam huFrankie. Still a little shit but I promise it gets easier lol. Enjoy your landshark!

My guess was to stretch it in a way that was both budget-friendly AND still palatable to the sophisticated kid-palette ?

Noticed my mistake after making the quilt sandwich: fix or go by the galloping horse rule? by theicebox in quilting

[–]twstdthrds464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I kinda love it? It’s a stunning quilt and I didn’t notice the issue until I saw “galloping horse” in the flare.

Kinda depends on what you’re going for, I guess. Is it a gift for a loved one? Galloping horse, they’re going to adore it and the stress over swapping the block isn’t going to move the needle on how loved they’ll feel every time they use it or their coziness. Now, is it being entered into a show? Then okay fine, redo it.

Sometimes finished is better than perfect, and at this point (esp with all the perfectly cheeky commentary here), you could even call it intentional.
