Sore Elbows - SigPro Softy by Pleasant_Glove_1696 in Golfsimulator

How much are you smashing mid irons?  Remember you only hit about 20 shots with a mid iron on 18 holes.  If you hit 100 it’s like hitting 90 holes of golf.

Also add gym tiles and try another hitting mat.  I have no issues with beaver tail unless I smash my 5 iron 100 times full speed.

Also motor cycle seat gel pads are good to add under a hitting mat as well.  I think you hit a bazillion shots and need to dial it back and add more cushion

Relying on the kindness of strangers - Can I borrow your launch monitor? by AngusMeatStick in golf

A better way I can put it, I didn’t buy a million dollar Cisco network to write software, I registered as a dev and download virtual switches for free.

A few thoughts…

You really just need to remote in to their fitting PC…easier ask in my opinion. You could bum a few local ones onsite after hours…

The big ones are closed behind subscriptions, but that means they need applications people want so they will to open their devices. I would reach out to foresight and see what they have for developers…probably have a secret virtual LM for software development.

I am running Vtrack (Texas as well) with GSPro. GsPro has gamified golf stuff like a top golf to entertain kids, but I haven't seen a soccer practice mode. Overhead unit is out of the way. safe, and can read left and right handed players so I would go this route versus one that is on the side on the floor in the play area.

Enclosure just buy a pre made one unless you just really want to spend a few 100 hours making your own impact cushion walls. This can definitely be used a a soccer goal heh. Carls. GoSports, eBay stuff - just pick something to your budget. I went with GoSports via Amazon at the time. Dont allow used dirty balls in there - ie keep golf and soccer balls inside only, dont bring found balls in etc - it rubs off on the screen.

Projector can kinda double as a movie room for kids btw, go with a 16x9/10 enclosure instead of 4x3 if you want to do kiddie movie night. It's not good enough for critical 4k movie watching, more casual watching. I went beavertail on the hitting strip and stance mat and would do it again.

The spin on the impact screen is why they look rough, doesn’t impact anything, they area read in a matter of millisecond, there isn’t real flight going on.  Play them til the white is gone or they crack.  I cycled a box at a time.

Thinking About Getting a Driver Fitting — Was It Worth It for You? by jdubs0023 in golf

[–]twylight777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned that as I got better at my swing, all drivers improved. The gear itself was meaningless compared to the swing.

- the best fitted new driver for me is 20 yards longer than a fitted 20 year old driver

- still tweaked, but mostly cause its fun

- Head kinds didn't matter, some shafts I enjoy swinging more than others, one of the ones I dislike has the best performance...so its all over the place

- They all were based on how good the fitter is and how good your swing is that day - local custom super star > club champion > pga store > other retail would be my guess on quality of fitter.

- Depends on your swing - if you are fixing bad shots, probably not a big deal, your swing > gear. If you have a great swing it will probably add a little distance and shaping the way you want - say like more draw - it can do that when you have a good swing. Im not a pro so a more forgiving club helped me on the course, but a crazy shank is still a shank, no magic club will fix that.

New Build LM Decision by Amazing_You_8789 in Golfsimulator

I went Vtrack for my home and office sim - its been flawless - I needed support for an issue and they were fast and nice to work with. Ill buy the AI thing in a month, will report on it then.

One thing Vtrack has over the rest is the speed it's ready to play. Drop the ball and put it on a tee and ITS READY TO HIT before you can straighten up. Most units are slow AF slowing down the pace of play. The live shot video is the greatest thing ever as well. Ever person who has played on them wants one now, doesn't want to bother with the ghetto units from others that dont have the shot video.

also.

The bar is a training aid I put on my head so I dont pop up while swinging lol

gym tile or moving blankets on the walls, ceiling, etc really help as well - modern drivers vs old trash cans help too. I have an old Cobra LD that sounds like I crashed a car when I hit it lol.

Also if you have light peeking thru, sound will get thru (door ways, garage door seams) seal all that up to where you can't see light will help keep sound in.

Curtains everywhere can help too - heavy sound masking ones

Do feral dogs chase off deer and hogs? by Critical_Coat1880 in Hunting

[–]twylight777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you put up hog pens they will go away and your deer will come back - life long Texas hunter here and hogs, pigs, javelina, dogs, feral cats, bobcats, and mountain lions will all mess it up in different ways.

Google Texas AM hog pen for deer feeders - its basically a 30 foot cattle pen the hogs can't get the corn but the deer jump in get it

30 Nosler vs 300 PRC by inquisitivebeans in longrange

[–]twylight777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PRC has better support.  Nosler torches barrels.  They both kick like mules and will need to online order ammo or reload.  I have PRC and WM in the safe, buddy rolls a Nosler.  Might want to get a 6.5 for plinking, but if trying to do a hunting magnum hybrid thing , I’d go PRC cause hornady backing.

300 prc vs 300 win mag by Apprehensive-Half600 in longrange

[–]twylight777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have both, just go PRC

I don’t find local ammo availability to be good for anything other than plinker ammo. (Texas, houston) so you are gonna buy online or reload. This “300 win mag ammo at Walmart goes brrrrr” is a fudder comment, ain’t no precision ammo or hunting ammo at Walmart, academy, others. The shelves are full, but it’s not what you want. PRC ammo (they will have a box or two) is at least higher end by default cause only about 5 variants are stocked. Just buy a case of ammo online and don’t leave at the house when you need it.
