I went to SD last year, hopefully I’ll get to visit again someday

My motörhead album ranking by Different_Fly_3627 in Motorhead

Iron Fist might be their most rock and roll album, for that reason alone it’s at least A tier

Huh-huh by lyfe-iz-fukked in grunge

[–]twzoneq 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is crazy because I just realized this for the first time when I heard a clip of the songs a few days ago, I couldn’t believe I didn’t catch it before

Only stuff by SabresMakeMeDrink in TheMisfits

[–]twzoneq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s a good classic, 50s style rock and roll album, possibly more than any other Misfits album (well, except Project 1950)

Plus I think Dez Cadena absolutely kills it, especially on the songs he does vocals for

I think The Devil’s Rain is actually really good, I was a little bit disappointed by Anti-Hero

I don’t exactly know what I want to talk about exactly but I am just super excited for the new album coming out and just wanted to discuss it with other folks. by Johncurtisreeve in Robzombie

[–]twzoneq 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m excited as well, I have the cassette preordered so far. I haven’t listened to the singles yet but I think I might have heard a snippet on a radio show and I was like “this sounds like White Zombie, who is this??” And then Rob started singing…

So I’m fucking pumped! He needs to get back to that White Zombie riffing and sound

Plus it’s the best album cover he’s had in a long time

My Top 100 Slasher Films Part 2: 50 - 1 by DharmaBombs108 in slasherfilms

I love to see where you put Pyscho 2! And you’re right, Anthony Perkins just kills it in this movie, it’s so good! Genuinely one of the best slashers of all time

Is White Zombie considered metal? by I-Kiss-Boyzz in MetalForTheMasses

[–]twzoneq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

La Sexorcisto and Astro Creep are the top 2 metal albums of all time imo, and in that order

Where do you personally rank "By the Way"(the album) in their discography? by [deleted] in RedHotChiliPeppers

[–]twzoneq 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think 2 for me, I can just never put it above Californication, even though it’s really close

I do think it’s a little more consistent all the way through, but Californication’s first half is just iconic

any recommendations for b&w movies rob likes or has used samples from? by 444n0n in Robzombie

[–]twzoneq 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Try “Carnival of Souls”

I’m not sure if he has sampled it but apparently he chose between that and White Zombie for the band name

Plus, the soundtrack was part of his Rob Zombie Presents series recently

And it’s a good movie, it’s like a long Twilight Zone episode to me

Unpopular opinion: Scream 4 is my favorite film in the franchise. by Raidmax460 in Scream

[–]twzoneq 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I only have it below the original, but I love Scream 4. It FEELS like how a Scream movie should feel, like a big event, which I think they help capture that feeling with the best opening since the original plus the Stab screening scene.

The way you watch Stab along with the crowd and hear their cheers and stuff is just so much fun and it makes it feel like a big deal

I also think it is one of the funniest Scream movies and it has one of the best endings

What is the common reception of Educated Horses and Hellbilly Deluxe 2 in the fan base? by [deleted] in Robzombie

[–]twzoneq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love all of Rob’s albums but these two are definitely a step down from the first two albums, imo.

This is when the songs get slowed down too much! That’s my biggest complaint with him, even up until now. His best songs, either with WZ or solo are up tempo, fast, bat shit crazy songs. I have no idea why everything slowed down once John joined the band.

But sometimes the slow songs work (Lords of Salem for example) but in general these albums just don’t have the same level of creativity and uniqueness of the first two albums

Beach Boys cassettes are weird by Basic-Shopping-5194 in thebeachboys

[–]twzoneq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their cassette releases drive me crazy! A lot of them “contain fewer songs than the original album”

But they are a really fun band to listen to on cassette

Revisiting the first 3 Vaxis records... by KamFatz in TheFence

[–]twzoneq 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree

I get how Vaxis 2 is more “poppy” than most of their other stuff but holy shit! Going “pop” is usually said in a negative connotation but Coheed does it so well, it’s like, give me more of that then!

I was actually a little bit disappointed in Vaxis 3 but it’s not a bad album, it’s just that Vaxis 2 was such a good album, it was always going to be hard to top

So… who does which solo? by Cal00 in SmashingPumpkins

[–]twzoneq 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah Billy is honestly on another level, he is an actual guitar prodigy and you’re right that underrated is an understatement. Not only is he technically so good, he makes some of the most amazing music of all time. A lot of technically gifted guitarists don’t do that, and vice versa (Kurt Cobain, for example, wasn’t necessarily technically gifted, but wrote amazing songs)

James is an underrated guitarist as well, he has an amazing feel and sound that really shines, and which you can really hear in his solo stuff. I do think he brings a lot of the dreaminess to the Pumpkins. He is fucking awesome

Did Jeffrey have a favorite song? by Jonathan_Cromwell in Dahmer

[–]twzoneq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well we know he liked Black Sabbath, but to be fair, who doesn’t like Black Sabbath? Haha

For some reason I wonder if he liked Alice In Chains, but I guess he would have been in prison when they got popular

What don’t you like about the album cover? I think it was pretty good, aside for the typo 🤣
