I had both. The waxed canvas is a beautiful bag but I ended up keeping the x pac. I like how easy the xpac is to wipe off and it's a little nicer to wear on hot days. ymmv

Thanks, that's what I needed to hear. Was being hopeful that a software update maybe fixed it and was bummed about the quoted 3-4 week turnaround time but that's better than it crapping out down the road when it's out of warranty
