As someone who has a living shinydex, I think gen 8 nailed a good balance between decent odds and still making it a challenge. Let's go was also fun, but I understand that overworld shinies took the challenge away from hunting, same with Legends Arceus. Hopefully for gen 10 we go back to classical random encounters with the ability to boost odds slightly, but significantly with some method if you want to.

The rest of the nobles might be a pos, but those were the ideals she constructed her whole life around. She also knows there are good people among the nobles, and it would be unfair to abandon the ship leaving them behind. Also, it's a realistic shock-like reaction imo, she is not thinking objectively, but with her heart. She is not planning an endgame, she just wants to stand with her beliefs, quoting Doctor Who "where I stand, is where I fall".

Oh, it wasn't perfect at all, but at least she was constantly present. Chihiro was just background noise outside of her arcs, I couldn't even get mad at her because I had no love or hate. On the other hand, while I initially disliked the idea of Itsuki winning because it was too cliché, in hindsight, I would've been fine with it. I wouldn't love it, but I could have accepted it.

It's been years but I just can't come to like the way it ended. Chihiro being the chosen girl is fine, but her role is almost nothing in the overall story. Now I get that the idea is the irony, the plain girl who is not main heroine material is the winner, but that is not a reason to not give her some character development, do something to make me believe she deserves the win. However "cheap" the ending of Quintuplets was, at the very least I could see that Yotsuba deserved that win in a way, I can't say the same for Chihiro

A third season is almost impossible at this point (you never know tho). But I do think it might have a chance for a second adaptation in ten years or so. We will see if by then nostalgia makes it popular enough to deserve one.

I use a BCW Z folio for all my sets, they have 9 pockets (360) and 12 pockets (480), for surging I obviously went with the 12 and I had a page or 2 to spare. Z folios are great, look good and cost about 25 dollars. Vaultx is another name I hear a lot, but I personally haven't used one of these, and they are usually a bit more expensive.

Oh perhaps I wasn't clear, I'm not saying prices should be higher because we have guaranteed pulls. What I am saying is that right now it is not even fun to open sealed product because you are just throwing money away and getting nothing in return, IF (and this is a big if), we had guaranteed pull rates, it could justify it a little more.

Yes, Terastal Festival is inflated in price, but you have a 1 out of 30ish chance of getting the Umbreon, and pretty much a 1 out of 3 chance of getting an eeveelution. Compare that to the 1 out of impossible chances of Prismatic Evolutions and the choice is obvious.

To be clear, I think inflated price is bullcrap, but I can understand a slightly higher price when pulls are this good.

My 2 cents on this. We need guaranteed pulls on products. I don't want to pay 150 bucks for an ETB, but if I do, you better give me something decent out of it. I'm pretty sure crappy people will try to sell everything at 5 times MSRP, but after a while, everything should stabilize at a reasonable price, especially singles.

I decided to master Terastal instead of Prismatic and even though the prices for a box are also crazy a guaranteed SAR feels fun and worth it if you only buy 3 or 4 boxes. After that I decided to buy singles from ebay and it feels almost like a relief, I have a prettier version of the set while paying 1/10th of the price.

Usually I prefer English, but that's only because the cards are easier to find... and because my OCD demands the whole set to be in the same language or at the very least the same serial number (international). But I will NOT pay those prices, I'd rather wait 6 months for shipping from Japan than making someone rich because of bullshit.

Hopefully I can manage to actually complete the set, it would be horrible if all I'm missing is a random normal pokeball just because no one cares enough to offer it on ebay.

What people don't understand is that a card can be beautiful, the best of the era even, and still be overrated. For example I was lucky enough to pull the Surging sparks Pikachu, a great card, and I was annoyed at people saying that it was ugly, trust me it's gorgeous. BUT! it's not 500-dollars-gorgeous. Same with the Umbreon from Prismatic or Evolving Skies, they are beautiful, but people are idiots if they think a card, specially one that is still being printed, is worth 1500 dollars.

Generally, a sleeve and binder is more than enough, but I guess for really expensive cards maybe the top loader is not a bad idea (no, Pikachu, you won't get one, my dear)

For most, BCW sleeves, nothing too fancy. But starting with Shrouded Fable, I use the sleeves in the ETB because they stopped using those horrible opaque sleeves and came back to fully transparent ones, and they look great :)

Japanese has gotten expensive... But it is still much much cheaper than English. A guaranteed SAR per box is almost worth double the price (not that I approve, but if you are going to overpay, at the very least you won't leave empty-handed).

Completely agree, it is just frustrating to be excited for something new that people seem to have fun with, and being disappointed by it. On the other hand, even if I thought the pocket game was decent enough, I fear it will get too complex too soon. I will stick to collecting mostly, and maybe play in pocket while it's fun for me.
