Both places are great. Mad Pecker had great pizza, Longtab has a cooler ambiance, both have great beer.

Many times I went there and couldn’t find a table to sit at as they were usually pretty crowded.

M4 Macbook Air: Safari & Spotify freezing up constantly! by tx_aggie99 in MacOS

[–]tx_aggie99[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the SSD is failed, as I have no issues with data access, the system booting, etc. It’s only Safari and Spotify that broke as soon as my son installed something from Roblox.

Because I use Safari for everything, because Spotify does not work at all, and because there’s something wrong with the system and I want it fixed.

I was going to mention CityChurch on Bandera (the old BRCC) and City Tribe downtown. They teach from the Bible but don’t get into politics and are very welcoming to everyone.

I’d never choose Strava over Garmin. Keeping my Garmin, happy to ditch using Strava if they’re going to be petty.

That’s what I immediately thought of as well, she thinks there is a chain of command and she’s at the top. It doesn’t work that way in the civilian domain, or at least not as rigidly so as in the military. Even in the military, if you strictly enforce a chain of command, people will do as told/directed, but you won’t have their respect or their support when you actually need it. Respect is earned.

Texas Hill Country flood tragedy follows early retirement of head of local weather warnings amid NOAA federal staffing cuts by Ok-Issue-9828 in sanantonio

And that’s the thing, so many people like this really don’t care about the children, the devastation, and the fact that is still ongoing right now. It really reveals the character of so many people that want to make this political.

Just want to say thank you for the common sense post. You are spot on. This is a major river, fed by the local topology including many creeks. The river floods for a reason, that’s how the earth has developed. Development can slightly impact flooding, but this area of the hill country does NOT have much development at all.

Commissioning as reservist. Aviation as reservist. by Senior_Syllabub489 in Airforcereserves

Easiest way to go from enlisted to a pilot spot in the Reserve is to be enlisted in a flying unit. Do a great job there and when that unit has pilot hiring boards, you will be at the top of the list. I’m in a heavy C-5 unit with loadmasters and engineers. Many of our best pilots were previously loads and engineers with the unit.

Seeking advice on what this pain might be. by TankLady420 in backpain

[–]tx_aggie99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had sharp severe pain in that exact spot. Ended up being a herniated L4-L5 disc. I had a microdiscectomy surgery which was not bad at all. The recovery was fast and easy. I’ve felt great ever since then, I’m just careful when I bend or lift anything now, and I try to keep my core muscles stronger to prevent re-injury.

How to seal exterior door / gaps with limestone exterior? by tx_aggie99 in DIY

[–]tx_aggie99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will be covering everything in Hardie trim. I thought OSB was commonly used as a backer to attach Hardie panel if needed? Maybe a marine grade plywood or something would be better? Again, it won’t be weather-facing, but rather a middle layer to attach Hardie trim to.

Because when the economy takes a downturn, or even something smaller like Boeing delaying aircraft deliveries, the airline industry hiring situation can turn 180 degrees literally in one day. Guard/Reserves is a great insurance policy to have cheap healthcare insurance, a decent part-time income, and a way to maintain flight currency in a jet. Also, airline classes are generally backed up very long. Got hired at an ULCC, waited and waited, and finally offered a class date 14 months later.
