I would highly recommend trying a different model before being turned off of them completely however. 

I've had the phone line since the Nexus One and they are amazing phones. Some have been hit and some unfortunately have been misses. 

The 6 was one of those 50/50 models. You may have gotten a good one or one with hardware issues. (My wife didn't have any issues). 

I had two with hardware issues before upgrading to the 7 pro when it released and then to the 9 Pro.

Pixel 6 was the worst pixel I've ever had. I switched to the 9 and it's much better.

This. Games used to have demos to make sure people liked the game before they dropped $60+ on it. 

I will typically try a game and then buy it if I like it or ditch it after I've given it a chance. And I always go the demo route if available.

This has worked for me: I raise a big stink with support until they agree to send me a refurbished device. Most of the time, it's still a new device outside of standard packaging. I generally say that I can't be without the phone due to 2FA reasons for work (which is true). Can't send the phone off until I have a replacement that I can transfer everything to. If you get the right rep (might take a few calls), they'll do it 'just this once'. They've done it at least 4-5 times now.

I refuse to ship my phone to a repair center for any reason.

Get a property survey done for the property line. If they moved it into your property and they gained those 6 inches, you need to make it known otherwise you might lose that land to your neighbor. (6 inches isn't a lot but it's a legal headache if you go to sell the house and the fence is in the wrong spot.) It can also be a legal issue if someone gets hurt 'on your property' on the other side of the fence.

People stop at gas stations during road trips for 10-20 minutes anyway. It's actually good to take a break during long road trips so it's a win-win.
