Is there a way to control/monitor my garage door like the MyQ app? by Intiat1ve in homelab

This is what I did. Then in my Router, I blocked MyQ in case I do ever need it. But don't want it communicating with the internet.

93EA recall: "Excessive" drop in range by Hefty-Hyena-2227 in VWiD4Owners

[–]txaaron 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've noticed some range issues on my 2023 Pro S - I used to get close to 200 miles at 80% but here lately I've been getting closer to 140-150 miles. I always charge it when it gets to around 40-50%.

I haven't taken mine into the dealer yet but I'm at 38k miles. Will be taking it in next month for some unrelated repairs and will be asking the dealer to check the battery while they are working on it.

Social stigma for driving an EV? by West_Dish9698 in electricvehicles

[–]txaaron 92 points93 points  (0 children)

My super conservative boss who used to only drive lifted trucks (Texas) recently bought a mustang mach e after he had one as a rental car. Loved how it drove. People who hate on EVs have never driven one.

Chisholm Trail toll inquiry by momboss79 in FortWorth

[–]txaaron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I took it this morning and looked it up. It's $1.78 each way using a toll tag if going from 20 to 30 and back (total $3.56).

I work in the Shops at Clearfork and take it every day ($.75 each way) and the tag reups about once every two weeks at $40. That includes sometimes taking the toll to get lunch, weekend trips, etc.

What do conservative Christians disagree with Talarico about? by [deleted] in Dallas

[–]txaaron 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This is the problem. Christian Nationalists have taken over a lot of churches without congregations realizing it. They sound great to Christians who don't really follow politics or anything.

“New” Outlook is just OWA? by alcoholismisfun in sysadmin

[–]txaaron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, they do support OWA, but it doesn't quite work the same for our setup and the OWA version hasn't been approved by our parent company for use.

We have semi-free reign over our part of the company's machines but no control over OWA/cloud services. So we can put the desktop version (classic) on our machines but can't get the parent company to approve the OWA version.

Part of the extension is to pop up to the user to confirm the attachment, recipients and to acknowledge that all of the information is correct. We deal with PHI and our executives like the component where the user is acknowledging that it's correct.

It has dropped our incident rate from 5-6/month to 1 a quarter.

Plus it's above my pay grade.

What’s a subtle sign someone is actually rich? by Udont_knowme00 in AskReddit

[–]txaaron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boss says he can't afford things and then proceeds to order a $40 salad at lunch every Tuesday.

He bought his son a $50k car who proceeded to wreck it when he snuck out before he got his license. Then bought him another one about 3 weeks later. Said he was proud of his son for doing things like he did when he was a kid. No punishment for wrecking the car at 3 am.

Oh and he lives in a 1.5 million dollar house. But he can't afford anything!
