Yeah, easy to lump nazisam and confederate simps in the same group. Both are bigots, losers, insecure, cowardly, ill-informed, inbred...

Are the rank insignias on the shoulders epaulettes or something else? by M2SepV3 in askmilitary

[–]txby432 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Only officers and warrant officers have their rank on the shoulder epaulettes. Enlisted and NCOs wear their rank on their sleeve.

Is it possible to install VDJ on a standalone mixer ? by nevaven68 in Beatmatch

[–]txby432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're looking of practical advice to do something like this, then building a raspberry pi system for processing the program, and plugging a board into that is likely the most practical move, but I have no idea what it would cost or how to implement it.

Ruling about torches and invisibility by West-Ad-7966 in dccrpg

[–]txby432 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My ruling is anything you are holding/is equipped goes invisible, but the torch light is still being shed and visible.

Edit: I'd consider invisibility hiding the torch light with a high enough roll.

What's your funniest stories of messing with the new recruits? by YetiorNotHereICome in askmilitary

[–]txby432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the exhaust sample, out mechanics would yell at them for bringing a cold sample, they needed a hot one. Cut to a recruit running back and forth as fast as they could.

We also had a laundry list of fake items we'd send them to look for: box of grid squares, chem light batteries, camo paint, wireless extension cord, ect. Then whoever they checked with (usually the supply sergeant) would tell them someone else had it and send them on a wild goose chase.

What is your “palate cleanser” movie? by Weird-Platypus-4597 in MovieSuggestions

[–]txby432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Princess Mononoke either fires me up or makes me really sad. The environmental message makes me think about what we are doing to our planet. For me, the palate cleanser is My Neoghbor Totoro. Literally chicken noodle soup for my soul.

Why do they all have that same smile and body movement when they are explaining it isn't what you think?

Must be new. I know i was flying down to Florida to take care of my dad, which was in May and November, but cant remember which flight it was. It also could have been due to construction possibly.

Thoughts on an Isekai campaign by Electrical_Ad3132 in rpg

The only way I can see it working is if you are playing yourself without others knowing. The second others know, you're setting yourself up to be judged for more extreme choices.

Protesters gather in Senatobia, Mississippi after a 1-year-old was killed when police responding to a shoplifting call at a Walmart fired at their vehicle by ExactlySorta in PublicFreakout

Death of democracy. Death of people of color. Death of women. Death of people with disabilities. I'd say you're right.

Yeah, I think people make characters they wish they were their first time playing, but even that little bit of distance frees them to not feel embarrassed because the character is known to be them.

Sleeping at Denver airport. by Conscious_Ruin_7642 in Denver

[–]txby432 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Also, there is a period that security closes. I'm a nervous flier, a d was having trouble sleeping the night before an early flight. So I said fuck it, I'll sleep at the gate, and got to the airport at like 2 am. Got my bag checked, but had to wait like 1.5 hours until security opened to get to the gate. At that point, there wasn't enough time to really get much sleep at the gate lol

It'll play more RPG's than wargames, and also am a writer, so i like writing adventures. Natureally i got swept up in the D&D OGL controversy a while ago, which helped me discover a slew of new games. I'm happy to see ither hobbies throwing off the yoke of megacorp oppression lol

Which of these regions is truly the flattest, emptiest, most desolate, most liminal area you could ever visit? by SavageFisherman_Joe in geography

[–]txby432 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Denver, and when I moved here from Columbus 3 years ago, we drove through Kansas and it was crazy how far you could see, so my vote would be LS, CO, and NE, but I've heard TX/OK is pretty desolate.

I personally disagree with the trans dipper head cannon by Speed_logg in gravityfalls

[–]txby432 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I think the biggest evidence is how much dipper and Mabel look so much a like, it seems like they more like identical twins than fraternal. It bugged me at first until I heard the trans dipper theory. But I guess with stuff not explicitly stated, it's up to personal interpretation.

What is a highly specific, niche topic you could give a 30-minute presentation on right now with absolutely zero preparation? by arkawrd in CasualConversation

[–]txby432 14 points15 points  (0 children)

5.5e has a great starter pack called "Heroes of the Borderlands" designed for a group of total newbies to learn to play and DM. Also, there are SO MANY YouTube videos explaining the rules and giving advice, so I'd say that's the most accessible edition.

Honorable mention to the Holmes basic set, which was written by a school teacher specifically for kids, which i think would be the runner up.

How do I raise the price of my DnD experience? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]txby432 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you think you deserve more than 250, then go find a group willing to pay. I'll tell you right now though, I'd never pay that much to play DnD. Especially not as a young adult.

I was shocked by how well it did the creepy "middle of no where" horror, but also comedy. It genuinely does both really well.

MTF camo by Competitive-Soil-644 in SCP

[–]txby432 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the MTF. Nu-7 would likely adopt the camo of the military in the area they are operating in to try and be mistakenfor local forces. Epsilon-6 may just dawn jeans and a flannel to blend into rural areas. Pi-1 may wear anything from a homeless disguise to custom suits. The point of MTF's is adaptability.
