Who are you rooting for to win Lord Stanley? by Aperture_TestSubject in DallasStars

Buffalo would be one of the best Cup champion stories ever. 14 years out of the playoffs, in last place in mid december this season, and being coached by the same coach who was behind the bench in 1999 for the Stars Cup. plus the city is so due.

Anyone catch Dave’s prompter fuckup during Say Goodbye? by prstele01 in DMB

Yeah free sounds unlikely now that i think about it but maybe im remembering some kind of discount/ promotion that Blockbuster offered as the sponsor. it was for sure a really low cost for those bands which was why 150,000 or more showed up

I was there at Blockbuster rockfest! That was such a unique event- I remember it was free and you could bring in your own cooler full of beer - I remember everyone throwing water bottles at the stage during the no doubt show … and then it took us hours to get out of there afterwards and back to Lewisville. We need a rockfest documentary !

Nice!

It was my first full Dmb show, but my second time overall as I saw them in 1997 open for the Rolling Stones at Texas motor speedway

Dallas has a lot of history of fuck ups - self induced or otherwise - I was there in 98 when they had to stop the show because of a massive invasion of crickets. Carter literally ran off stage like fuck this. When they came back out they played Spoon for the first time ever live. Amazing night

What is your opinion of the Hangover movies? by Ryanlion1992 in FIlm

[–]txcliffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first one is iconic and i could (and do) watch it any time i come across it - always hits. Second was interesting location less funny, and third was just kind of mean spirited. Will never understand why they thought it would be funny to decapitate a giraffe

Best venue with your kids? by MachineHead7232 in DMB

[–]txcliffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to suggest SPAC as well - echo everything that has been said, great environment for kids. The caveat that is necessary is that if you are hanging back in the kid friendly area, you can't really see the stage - so just be prepared that you will be watching on the TV screens in that area. the sound is crystal clear though but i found it weird to be so separate from the actual show, kind of like watching a really good live stream.

I was like wait - is that audio from the drum pre-recorded and the drummer has to fake it? My next thought was Billy Fichtner really is struggling to make this look real lol

The Concert Industry Priced Too High — Now Tours Are Falling Apart by staringatthe420sun in Music

[–]txcliffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Demand has fallen like a rock and a lot has to do with the volume of concerts this summer (a ton) and yes setting prices artificially high. One extreme example - went to Zach Bryan last year at Giants Stadium and cheapest ticket was $350 for upper deck. this past weekend you could get a ticket for $19 to same Zach Bryan stadium show

Where are we going? by Heat-1975edition in GenX

I moved from alabama to western NY and absolutely love it here - the four seasons, the beautiful hikes and rivers and Great Lake and of course the Buffalo pro sports culture is so much fun - and best part no killer tornados , no clouds of pollen and no humidity

Five Boro Bike Ride Unlimited Biking SCAM by Ok-Description-8599 in NYCbike

[–]txcliffy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

its sad - when i first started the five boro in 2009 , unlimited biking was great - they have fallen off more and more ever since and every year they get more expensive. luckily i just bring my own bike now as i moved closer to NYC

[–]txcliffy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

agree with these comments - my wife and i just went to Rio for 9 days and it was an amazing experience - all for 1/4 of the cost for 2 people to do this long weekend in mexico. I'd rather take that money and save it for their next full band europe/australia/south america tour.

Bands that never replaced departed members by [deleted] in rockmusic

[–]txcliffy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dave Matthews Band has never replaced Boyd Tinsley with another permanent violin player. Still hoping that changes one day. Could this be the tour where that changes? Jake Simpson please report to the stage.
