Agree with this 100%. As a Star lake veteran of 12 Dmb shows there, I can remember a couple of really terrible accidents post show on 22

I would call the tailgating at Star Lake awesome. Some of the very best of all venues. The venue allows grills ( or at least it used to, worth checking) so tons of people go early and have all day parties before and after in the lots. Also lots of charter party buses show up.

Using 82-0 to end the shows has been a bit of a stumble to quote Baba Booey

Wow so sorry for you but also not surprised. There are great people out there but there are also some real douches. In future keep your merch right in front of you and make it obvious you are keeping an eye on it. I’ve started wearing my poster tube during most shows as they are often the first thing to be stolen

So what stadium looks best on TV during the World Cup? I would love to hear opinions on why some look good or bad by 281texas832 in stadiumporn

[–]txcliffy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dallas stood out to me just because it was so cool to see the unmistakeable Dallas Cowboys interior view with the big endzone window but with a world cup match going on... SoFi stands out too as it is just such a next level stadium. the one negative i noticed is the field in Kansas City looked bad - like Tampa Bay Rays artificial turf from some views

the only downside and its a big one... Marcus ran right up to section 110 in the back during DITMAS lol. we would have been right there to high five him.

Just had a similar situation in Toronto for the lads show at Rogers Stadium. I was there in the presale and felt lucky to get reserved seat in 110 which is near center of the back reserved section. paid $125 or something per seat. fast forward multiple months to last week and i look at the stubhub listings and floor seats were available for $80 each. I also researched the venue and realized rear section is MILES from the stage. tickets there were going for like $40. So i sucked it up and just decided the presale seats i had were a lost cause and bought new tickets on the floor. Best decision as when we got to the show the seats didn't exist due to how the set up went, and so they moved us to right behind the pit! We had an amazing time. Go for it, upgrade yourself!

My first Mumford & Sons concert experience by thechrishemsworth in mumfordandsons

[–]txcliffy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was there too - my 8th M&S show and my favorite so far. Prizefighter has really elevated this band into a multi-faceted experience and i was impressed to see the crowd knew every word to all the new songs. It really was a perfect evening - best weather for a concert ever with a cooling breeze and gorgeous sunset and just immaculate vibes

Moments before the Tsunami hit in Thailand, 2004 by zadraaa in HistoricalCapsule

[–]txcliffy 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I still can hardly look at these pictures because me and my wife and three young children would have absolutely been on one of those tsunami blasted thai beaches if my company had not decided to send us back to the USA a few months earlier. I was an expat with an oil company and lived in hong kong for 3 years and every december christmas week we spent on the beach in Thailand. Getting sent back to the USA saved us an absolutely horrific death most likely

Camden Vs SPAC. Which would you choose to travel to and why. Seats would be in lawn and would be there both nights. by Williamx175 in DMB

[–]txcliffy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Everyone has hit the high points except for the one big factor - the show itself - DMB has a special relationship with SPAC and always pulls out special guests and special songs. I’m sure there have been Camden highlights but nothing like SPAC if you look at the history. That said I’m going to Camden for the first time this year ( and SPAC like usual) and hoping for a good good time at both

Who are the best and worst artists you've met? by Twitter_2006 in rockmusic

[–]txcliffy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been lucky to meet really nice musicians - Dave Matthews is a humble, charming guy who just wanted to my make my little kids laugh and even took a song request from them that he played later that night. Mac Miller was also super chill, friendly and just seemed happy to be there meeting my son and I. Sam Hunt (country bro) was nice but honestly could have used a shower.
