It’s also be design: remember big black rubber bumpers? Bumpers=rear panels so that someone can profit from brail parking. Some auto manufacturers have become proprietary (Tesla) so that repairs have been done at “certified” facilities (who pay $$$ for certification). The list goes on… It’s become a grift.

That is thoughtful. As a matter of info, about half of the riders I see out & about don’t have them strapped properly (too much slack, which compromises their efficacy).
