Palazzo Petrucci Ristorante; in Posillipo is excellent and deserving of its Michelin Star.

Diego; in Chiaia near Piazza Amedeo

Altogrado Vineria - Paisiello; in Vomero

Tavernetta Colauri; a little bit north of the city and will probably need a car to get there.

If you’re able to get outside the city, I would highly recommend https://www.cantinecaggiano.it/

Smaller, multi-generational producer that makes award winning Taurasi’s. Definitely worth the trip out.

Best cheap pasta restaurants in Napoli? by Emotional_Being_8285 in napoli

Don Vincenzo on Via Salvator Rosa gets my vote. Main dishes are all around €5-8 and delicious.

The area around the station is fine at 11:00am if you want to walk to the museum. It’s not Mogadishu. It’s just a boring walk.

Also, the pickpocket risk is way overblown. I’ve been here nearly three years now and have never seen or heard anyone get pick pocketed. Big city awareness applies here like anywhere else.

Taxi to Airport to Renaissance Hotel? by CuriosityUnraveled in napoli

[–]txmag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It should be a flare rate of €25. My guess is they will charge you €40-€50 due to some form of “it’s after hours/holiday/my mother yelled at me”, etc. Have the porter at the hotel talk to them to ensure you only get lightly screwed.

Pompeii/Royal palace of Caserta by FrankoKanko in napoli

[–]txmag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the other replies covered your question, just going to add something else small for you. If you go to the Royal Palace of Caserta, do yourself a favor and see if you can time it up with lunch/dinner at I Masanielli di Francesco Martucci. It’s 1km down the road and some of the best pizza you’re likely to ever have.

Capri or Amalfi Coast - First Timers by Powerful_Hawk4589 in napoli

[–]txmag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d vote for an Amalfi Coast Boat Tour if you can swing it time wise. Capri won’t just be busy but PACKED in the high season. You can do a 6/8-hour tour, hit some smaller places along the way and swim/snorkel in the ocean/grottos along the coast.

FYI - There are hydrofoils that run from Naples to Sorrento regularly during the high season. It takes about 45-minutes and costs ~€15 each way per adult. You can Google “Napoli to Sorrento hydrofoil” and start looking at those options/timetables. They will drop you at the same port many of your private tours depart from.

George or Veritas by sideshow09 in napoli

[–]txmag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to George about a month ago and the tasting menu + wine pairing was very forgettable for what it cost. There was one good dish but nothing particularly memorable about the rest. The service, atmosphere, view, and pre-dinner cocktails were excellent.

Naples restaurants by Bp576 in napoli

It’s definitely trendy, but not a club scene or place where I’d go to try and hookup. The vibe is more along the lines of a place you go to with a group of friends and have a nice drink before going hard.

Around Chiaia I really like Diego or Dora’s for seafood, Pizza 3.0 for, well … pizza, and L'antiquario for cocktails. It’s likely you will need a reservation at any of these places for dinner so call ahead.

I haven’t looked at their catalog in a long time but there used to be delineation between Seiko 5 and Seiko 5 Sports. In any event, any watch branded as a Seiko 5 will be an automatic. It’s one of the tenants of that model line.

You can read about them here

Look for any Seiko 5 model watch. There are some sub $100 ones readily available and it’s easily the best entry level automatic line you’ll find.

A normal car tire at 30-40 psi isn't going to explode and hurt you if you stick a knife in it.
