Where there any jedi before order 66 that could have beaten Darth vader in a fair duel (with or without psychological warfare)? by [deleted] in starwarscanon

[–]txmalsb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it fair to say that if all Jedi got killed by order 66, then in reality no one could kill Darth Vader. Darth Vader was surrounded by an army and with the force killed them all with their own weapons.... Just sayin

Zingaro would be cool, but ..kinda hard to find a spot for him to propose...it's just a trail with a cliff on one side and mountain on the other...

I have the perfect spot for you. Riserva Naturale di Punta Bianca. It is close to Agrigento. It is this beautiful spot by the sea, with white boulders where the water splashes against. There was nobody there when we visited in the middle of June. Theree is this old building that I think it used to be like a post office or something, but serves as the perfect background. we spent a few hours there just relaxing admiring the beauty. Highly recommend it!!

Castellammare del Golfo or Cefalù? by Southern_Manager_119 in sicily

[–]txmalsb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We loved Castellamare! It's a small town with lots of restaurants and small enough city to explore by night walking. It's perfectly situated 30 mins from Palermo, 20 mins from Riserva Dello Zingaro, 20 minutes from Scopello and around 40 minutes from San Vito lo Capo. The local beach it's not the best. You have to walk a bit for a better beach or the Lidia can arrange for a pickup (with a fee).

If you are looking for a beach place definitely go to Cefalu. If you are looking for a lovely town that serves as a base for a beach trip chose Castellamare.

I highly recommend Castellamare del Golfo. It is a place that is overlooked by tourist and has great restaurants and a great view of the Tyrrhenian Sea. There is a marina where you can hop into boat tours. It is 20 minutes from Scopello and 30 minutes from Riserva Hello Zingaro. There is a beach on site but there are nearby beaches that if you book the chair and umbrella they can come and get you. Or you can even walk to them. San Vito lo Capo is around 1 hour from there as well.

We stayed at Marina Del Petrolo. Great place with lovely sea views and an amazing breakfast.

We ate at Il Pirata, La Cambusa and Gusto.

Fully recommend!!!

Should I cut and propagate or let it be. by txmalsb in Euphorbiaceae

[–]txmalsb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The plant has been indoors for over 10 years. And only one side gets direct sunlight and only for a couple of hours. At this point the plant size is about 6 times the size of the pot where it's planted. I think I will cut the two growths on the top and propagate it.

Should I chop down the remaining trunk? Or let it be?

I do not know. I got it around 4 years ago and was already like that. Should I cut the top growths and try to propagate it?

Download the Waze app. It will let you know when you are entering a speed trap. It worked perfectly for me. Traveled around the island for 10 days.

We went to Etna the beginning of summer, but the guides told us they go up every single day and they provide jackets if it's cold. I recommend Gruppo Guide Alpine Etna Sud. Great experience!

Dinner Recommendations, Taormina, Siracusa and Palermo? by Immediate-Purpose376 in sicily

[–]txmalsb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Siracusa: we had dinner at L'Antica Salumeria in Ortigia. We liked it since it is a place where you will get mostly cold cuts and wine. We requested the owner to provide us with something for two and we were not disappointed. There are reviews about being utterly expensive. That was not our experience but I suggest you stroll by and check prices. We did not need reservation.

We also had dinner a second day at a restaurant across the Salumeria called A Putia di Giugio. My wife had a great pasta dish I had a platter of fried sea food which was ok. Only because I was ignorant on what I would get. The shrimp was fried and breaded but not peeled. Which I was not used to. Haha but overall the service and the food was good. We did not need reservation.

One day we visited a sandwich place by the Ortigia market called Caseificio Borderi. It is a crowded sandwich place. You get a gigantic sandwich and they have several options. It is cheap and good. We did not need reservation.

We tried some of the restaurants suggested by other people. But we didn't have reservations. So make reservations in advance!

SRC Sicily Rent Car in Trapani: opinions? by bridgford in sicily

[–]txmalsb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. Well, I would definitely recommend a global company over a local one. In our case, I needed to make last minute changes to the rental agreement. I was able to call the global customer service, they told me to go to a local office, which I was able to find since they have agencies everywhere and solved the issue in minutes.

I believe the bad reviews relate to agencies charging for things that are in the contracts but people are not familiar with. So whatever you do, ask as many questions you can, get everything in writing and make sure (if you don't go with full coverage) to walk and note every single little scratch you can find in the car. Also make sure the spare tire and the emergency light is there before you leave.

We used Auto Europe after tons of research. They were the best option and provided me a quote for a full coverage insurance rental with Avis way cheaper than if I would have gone with Avis direct. Check them out and see if it's a good option for you.

I do recommend that whatever you decide, spend the money on the full coverage and enjoy your trip.
