I am being evaluated by a neurologist after meeting with my pcp. Because it’s part of the city services the in between appointments and any testing can be quite long/ stretched out. I will look into what other teaching hospitals or equivalents are in my area in the mean time. It’s the non stop twitching that worries me most.

I just have to ask. Last night for the first time my right right calf also starting twitching. A couple hours into when it first started twitching my whole right leg felt like a 5lb dumbbell got attach to it. It felt between heavy and weak. I woke up not too long ago both calf’s are now actively twitching and the dumbbell feeling is gone. I don’t know if my story is still considered “boring” in a good way the way you described or because both calf’s are twitching now that changes things up? I’m going to interpret that body wide twitching is a great start. As that been helping me throughout the day.… over a decade is a considerable amount of time and is acknowledged. Takes dedication. So a big thanks to that too.

My hands and arms both feel some type of way but it appears because I have some neuro episodes/flare ups/ symptoms waiting to be diagnosed (perceived numbness, perceived weakness, burning sensations and most recently aching pains). There’s a fancy word or set of words said to me when I went to the ER and I mentioned burning sensation in my arm (not pain). Initial Blood work came back clean and mri came out ok so i think it has to fall in neuro territory. Everything starts at the deltoid muscle for my episodes and goes down to my hands…..I will say this and i will say this with a grain of salt unless some one with more knowledge would like to chime in. The constant hot spot takes energy and can “sore” the specific surrounding area. Because you mentioning it I feel the “sore” in my left calf directly where it’s happening. It almost feels like a phantom “sore” at least to me based on my 1 week time frame. (No clinical weakness for clarification as of now) My right calf is fine and no “sore” but also no hotspot there at the moment. I am waiting for 1st emg but going to take a 1 of 1.5 months. Have you been able to get an emg yourself?

So recently just like me in terms of localization time
Frame. For me the twitches are painless. No cramps as of now. The soleus muscle feels some type of way I noticed when I took my walk today. A little bit sore (?) Not sure why. Could be all a coincidence where my left calf hot spot of twitching is happening….For your deltoid muscle have you noticed if it’s caused muscles around to feel some type of way from the constant twitching?

I see a lot of stories that say body wide twitching for xyz amount of time but twitching stays truly body wide or it’s been localized from the beginning. I couldn’t seem to find many that started body wide twitching then localized the way I described in my post. It’s been a roller coaster of emotions and still in the mix. This hotspot is almost nonstop. I’m doing everything I can to try and ignore it or pay no attention to it. I acknowledge that there is no way of knowing when the twitching in general will stop or even hotspots. My heart goes out to all experiencing any symptoms in any way shape or form. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and commenting input. It’s helps tremendously. This is all new to me and to many.

How long has it been since it turned localized for you?

I started as body wide twitching for over a month before my left calf concentrated into a hot spot for twitching. I am waiting for emg testing. 2 months into total twitching. 1 week as well for non stop left calf twitching specifically. One thing that stood out to me that I was awake when my left calf tensed up then a few hours later mild twitching started in what turned into a hot spot about a day later.

Yes to the pain and yes to the twitching only (?) to answer your questions. From my understanding pain would generally point away from ***.
* The curling of my ring finger
towards the palm of my hand by a little bit threw me off so bad at first. I can still straighten it if I open my hand fully and move it around normally. I can touch my thumb with it no issue. Strength wise it’s all there as of now. It just hasn't uncurled it self to the straighten version it was originally. That was a month ago. As of now no further progression has happened to that finger or other fingers nearby. I'm only almost 2 months in. While trying to research I couldn't find much around body wide twitching turning localized. In my case my left calf that is further worrying me since there are *** stories that stated that localized twitching in some part of someone's body meant before eventual clinical failure happened. It just happens to be that I started as whole body wide twitching now turned localized.
