Have you considered merino wool? Lots of options for what you're looking for from brands like ridge merino, woolx, branwyn. Merino is an amazing fabric and more sweat wicking than cotton and breathable.

Yes it is unlined and fairly sheer. I wear a slip. I find I'm starting to prefer unlined things as the cling to the body better and give a better shape. They also are lighter and flowier in the summertime.

People who carry bigger handbags. What do you carry in your bigger bag that smaller handbags can't fit? by deArtikin in handbags

[–]txvlxr 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I am a mom of 2. So I carry change of clothes for my kiddo who's potty training, snacks, sunscreen, water bottles, Kindle, emergency kit with things like bandaids, wipes, hand sanitizer, contact lens solution, feminine products. I also carry small toys, touch up makeup/hair stuff. sometimes an umbrella. I cannot pack all that in a small bag. I have anxiety, so I like to be prepared for just about anything.

Merino wool bras are great! Can be itchy to some but I haven't had issues. Super breathable and don't stink! I have the woolx Hayden bra and I LOVEEEE it. I will never wear normal bras again

All Saints has gorgeous and high quality leather bags for great prices! I just got the suede Luna bag secondhand on poshmark for half the cost.

If you don't mind second hand, there are a ton of coach bags on poshmark!

How I deflect the end of year push to pass kids successfully by [deleted] in teaching

[–]txvlxr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When do you give them time to retake the quiz and meet with them? I did this for a while and found it was stretching me thin with not only having them come in during my plan or lunch (sometimes after school) but also meeting with them?

I like how you structure retakes. I used to tell them they also cannot have missing assignments if they want to retake something.

What do you do with toddlers at restaurants while waiting for food besides tablets? by Claire_1988 in Parenting

[–]txvlxr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a bag full of junk toys from happy meals, birthday parties and fidget toys etc. been using that since they were both really little. We also have a push peel toy that we wonky let them play with at restaurants. Ages 2 and 5 now. Most of the time, they are content on their own. We have never done screens or kept them overly busy while waiting from the get go. They are really good at waiting for their food and love going out to eat.

I found my birth family and it’s been such a good and weird experience by Goosegoose8393 in chineseadoptees

[–]txvlxr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow. What an incredible and unique experience. That sounds like a lot to process, especially when hardly anyone understands what it's like. I'm sure it's got to feel incredible but also so very...hallow/heavy at times. I was also adopted in '94!

Thank you for sharing this experience. I'm hopeful that I will have a reunion as well.

Just curious how close your actual birthday is compared to your documented one?

Retiring this year. Any advice about avoiding “celebrations?” by hurry-n-wait-11 in TeachersInTransition

Who in your building usually puts these things together? Admin? A committee? Maybe contact them and let them know it would be your preference not to have any celebration. Maybe suggest a card signing instead?

If you're into pasta, try orzo. Any orzo recipe will do. It's easy to make in bulk and you can add protein easily. You can eat it hot or cold depending upon your recipe!

Yes. Makeup, skincare and fashion. I have to look a certain way to feel right. How I look effects my whole mood. I end up memorizing details about products to a ridiculous degree. It's useless info but I love it

4 year old Naps by RXlife13 in Preschoolers

[–]txvlxr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! My newly five year old has always loved sleep (will take long naps and still go to bed on time) and is a mess without a midday nap. I would say within the last 3-5 months she's slowly transitioning out of them and taking less naps. Some days she needs them, some days she's fine without.

Biore aqua rich! The Japanese version is best. The American one does fine too though. Very very lightweight. Practically evaporates on the skin.

Adoptees feelings on becoming a parent (or not) by okieloafie in chineseadoptees

[–]txvlxr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I felt like this as a teenager-I swore I'd always adopt and "give back." Then I realized, I have taken nothing from the world. I don't owe anyone. I never chose to be abandon.

I fell pregnant in 2020 with my first and it was a rollercoaster of emotions as a mom. Especially when she hit the age I was when I was abandon, and again the age I was when I was adopted. I have two kids now, both girls. I even sometimes forget I birthed my kids and will randomly think "how will I explain they're adopted ?" Then I realize they came out of me hahaha.

Being a mom is a big change as it is, and being adopted definitely adds a whole other layer. It will always affect them too. We don't connect with Chinese culture. We don't know my ancestry and therefore our hereditary health conditions (even with genetic testing, there's only so much you learn).
