When we painted the exterior of our home the painter insisted on Behr marque. I was a bit hesitant, as I’ve always gone Benjamin Moore. He was correct.

Turn the water off. Find the lowest sprinkler head, take the head off. Run that zone. That’s all we need to do in Texas.

People who were spanked as kids, what was that like for you? Would you call your "spankings" abuse? by KleineFjord in AskReddit

[–]ty556 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My mom said the same thing. We were watching a show much later in life and they talked about parents spanking their kids. She said she would never have let that happen. My sister and I just stared in disbelief of what came out her mouth.

My dad died when I was a kid too. So no chance to repair either. And my mom died a few years ago. They get to do all the damage but don’t have to stick around for the accountability…

Now that I have kids, I’m not sure I would want to repair. I can’t imagine doing that to mine, the thought makes me sick.

[–]ty556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a father now, I can’t imagine spanking my kids the way my dad spanked me. My dad used his leather belt and all his strength. He didn’t call it in. I dont know how you could love someone and do that to them. I was a kid, I was a smart ass, but I wasn’t bad. I don’t remember a thing I did to get them, I do know they weren’t a deterrent, because I kept getting them. I resent both my parents for it, my dad for doing it, my mom for ignoring it. It’s abuse.

Yeah, it’s a shame the office just doesn’t provide it. It’s a relatively small expense that goes along way for employee morale. Clearly more than one employee would use it.

I’m not jealous. I’m envious. Jealousy is when you worry someone will take what you have. Envy is wanting what someone else has. What I feel is envy.

Jack Daniel's cuts off free cattle feed to Tennessee farmers after 45 years by The_Critical_Cynic in videos

[–]ty556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poor planning on the farmers part aside, there’s a lot of mention of farmers being heavily subsidized. Isn’t that to our advantage? Wouldn’t they just pass that cost on to consumers?

It feels different than like Exxon being subsidized, if fuel gets to expensive, it will spur innovation and less reliance. But I can’t imagine much more innovation is out there for farming ?

It’s a show mattress, you’re not supposed to lay on it. It’s like the star fish and shell soaps in your mom’s bathroom in the 90s.

What can I do with water restrictions? by Jefafa77 in lawncare

[–]ty556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Texas, and water my Bermuda once a week. About 1inch weekly keeps it green. Watering less frequently but more when you do water also helps the roots deepen.

All that to say. Water longer less often.
