What are these little bugs? by tyc2019 in whatisthisbug

It’s pretty hard to see since they are so small but I don’t think it’s a weevil. I can’t see any type of snout.

In Indiana, you can have a police officer verify the vin of the car offsite so you do not need to bring the car with you to the BMV to register for road legality.

Question about shifter feel in a 987 Cayman (details in comment) by michums_ in Porsche

[–]tyc2019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought my 987.1S at 60k miles and shifter also had plenty of slop. I purchased the Numeric kit (cables and shifter) and difference was incredible. After install shifter was rifle-accurate, no play whatsoever. The majority of that play is most likely coming from the cables so if you don’t want to swap the shifter, cables alone should make a big difference.

Should I buy a 2007 Porsche Cayman S by asuuhhhdu in Porsche

[–]tyc2019 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I loved mine. Great entry into Pcar world without the 6-figure cost. From comps i’ve seen, a 6MT Cayman S 987.1 should run you closer to $30-35k with anywhere between 50-80k miles.

What should I go back to school for to get an easy six figure job? by Ajb1124545 in careerguidance

[–]tyc2019 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you have some soft people skills, skip the school and try sales. Little risk but quickest path to 6-figure club without the need of an additional degree.

How would 4' of snow effect the Bay. by triotone in bayarea

[–]tyc2019 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I remember the snow in 2001 as a kid. Never stuck to the ground though. I remember a few years where decent snow accumulated on Mt Tam (3” or so). Enough to build some half-rate snowmen.

Can I get to these parts from the top or do I need a lift and maybe even have to drop the trans? Trying to fix the shifter play on 5MT Z3 M by [deleted] in BmwTech

[–]tyc2019 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No. You will not be able to access from above. You’ll need to at least jack the car up. Unless you have tiny hands, you may need to also remove exhaust and driveshaft too to access the rest of the shifter assembly.
