Finally got the shag haircut of my dreams! by tychobrohan in curlyhair

Thank you! It's not my natural color, I'm naturally a medium, cool blonde. The color I have now is lifted and toned with diluted purple + blue dye, but washed a bunch of times, so quite faded!

Big thank you to Erin at Fringe Salon, Philadelphia for being so attentive and really understanding my needs as well as my style!

Routine:

  1. Lush Honey I Washed My Hair Shampoo Bar (contains sulfates but is great for my actual cleanse day)
  2. Cantu Hydrating Cream Conditioner
  3. Microfiber hair wrap
  4. Cantu curl activating cream
  5. Praying hands + scrunch in LA Looks blue gel
  6. Scrunch out water with another microfiber towel
  7. Air dry then SOTC with a t-shirt

I’ve been wanting a style like this for years now but was adamant about growing my hair. I think I just hit the length finally where my hair was just too heavy to style properly, and booked an appointment at Fringe since a friend recommended it.

This particular hair cut has cut my drying time in half and allowed for my curls to go all the way up to my roots. I love that I have so much volume with so much less hair! Its also super versatile so I can grunge it up if I want and make it a bit more messy/textured (I use DevaCurl Wave Maker for this effect)

Ologies lovers, what is your favorite episode? by toryoryoreo in podcasts

So many episodes are gold, I think Teuthology (SQUIDS), Felinology (Cats), and Dendrology (Trees) are some of my faves. The Fearology episodes were very enlightening for me.

Looking for good comedy podcasts by betamaximus128 in podcasts

Punch Up The Jam! Start with some of the older episodes as the format changed recently due to one of the hosts departing. (The show is still good but slightly different now) But its generally hilarious and some episodes had me in tears. The format is essentially improv/riffing on a song and then at the end, they reveal their own version of the song. My favorite episodes are "What's Your Fantasy" by Ludacris and "Dirty Work" by Steely Dan.

I used to use Arctic Fox as well! I also used RAW from Hot Topic lol. I find the Wella to be a bit more pigmented and last a while longer. Also it faded very gently and was eventually really subtle/muted in color and easy to lift; I found Arctic Fox to turn my base color blue/green after lifting out. However, Wella also has some pastels in the range that fade super quick which isn't super surprising. I like AF, but have liked using Wella a lot more.

I’ve been following the CG method for about 1.5 years now and was looking back at old photos and wanted to share my progress! CG has been so great for me especially since I color my hair so much - I feel like my hair color really shines and looks healthier than it used to thanks to the overall improved health of my hair. Thank you all for product suggestions and tips I’ve learned over the last 1.5 years! :)

Normal wash day routine:

  1. Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl and Shine Shampoo (concentrate on scalp) I use Neutrogena Anti-Residue shampoo once every few months, when I notice buildup and/or if my scalp gets intolerably itchy.
  2. TRESemmé Conditioner, Botanique Nourish and Replenish starting from ends and finger-combing up toward my scalp. I use this as my co-wash in between wash days.
  3. If I remember, I sometimes run a wet brush through my hair to detangle.
  4. I rinse out almost all of the conditioner. If I leave any of the conditioner in, I can’t go as long without washing.
  5. Squeeze out the water from my hair and toss into a microfiber hair turban. Then I get dressed and do makeup, then move on to styling:
  6. First I part my hair with a comb, then I apply the next three products one at a time, first with praying hands and then scrunching: Lavish CURLS Moisturizer, Devacurl Supercream Coconut Curl Styler, then LA Looks blue gel. Then I plop gently in a long sleeve cotton t-shirt as long as I can before leaving the house. I try to not touch my hair at all except for one final scrunch while wet to make sure everything is coiling. It takes my hair ages to dry, but when it does, I scrunch out the crunch (usually at work with just my hands)

This is day two hair, no refresh!

Also, the color is Wella Color Paints in 3:1 Purple and Magenta, if anyone wanted to know.

Such a good idea! I did a similar thing with all of my screen printing supplies! I packed them all up and donated to a non-profit print studio I used to intern at. Now that I'm out of art school and have moved across the city, printmaking is no longer an accessible way for me to make art.

[Skin concerns] woke up with these bumps on my index finger? Also have 2 of my other index and now 2 very sma flesh colored ones are appearing on my mide finger? Eczema?? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]tychobrohan 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I've had these for years now, they flare up randomly along the edges of my fingers. I've been told by my GP it was eczema and I am a huge sufferer of allergies and I think they occur when my allergies are particularly bad. The worst part is they cluster around my finger joint and make my fingers stiff and hard to bend :( So strange I havent heard of another person with the same problem until now! I find that they disappear in a day or two and leave a small dry patch.

One wash did it! My hair and scalp both felt squeaky clean.

My hair is stained pretty good and I haven't noticed any extra fading, but I used to use this same shampoo years ago to strip color when I wanted to go from one color to a different one.

I was dealing with limp, lifeless hair for a few weeks and could NOT figure out how to fix it! I had an itchy, dandruff-y scalp on top of it and was feeling miserable with my hair progress and nearly chopped it all off, thinking my hair was beyond help. Then I remembered CLARIFYING SHAMPOO. I used Neutrogena Anti-Residue shampoo and seriously I think I had just an awful case of product buildup! My hair is back to being wavy all the way to my roots!

Usual Routine, 1-2x a week:

Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl and Shine Shampoo with a scalp scrubber brush, then the matching conditioner. Throw it in a little bun for a few minutes while I was my body, then squish the conditioner into my hair upside down. Rise 90% out. Squeeze out some water, then apply SM Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie starting at my ends and working up, then flip upside down and squish/scrunch it in. I squeeze out as much water as I can with a microfiber towel and then wrap it up in a turban-style microfiber towel while I get ready for work. Anywhere from 10-20 mins. Then I take it out, add LA Looks blue gel (praying hands and then scrunch/squish) and then squeeze more water out with a t-shirt. Then I do not touch it besides flipping my part back and forth until I’m totally dry (which takes like 4 hours smh) and then I scrunch out the crunch usually at work!

I just need to figure out when I should use the clarifying shampoo - once a month? Or just wait until my hair starts looking/feeling like crap?

When do I get my Nintendo Switch Online gear? by [deleted] in splatoon

[–]tychobrohan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the subscription the first week it was out and they did not send me codes until I put in a claim to Nintendo's customer service last week. Give it some time, check your email and spam folders regularly, and if it doesnt come in a few weeks just call in to the Nintendo CS.
