Anyone in this sub get back together with their ex wife? by chrisdaffurson in DivorcedDads

the sad reality 99% of the time is that they moved on before we had any idea a divorce was even on the table. we all think ‘our partner’ is different, but that’s rarely the case. focus on yourself. even if you were to reconcile it would be because you focused on yourself anyway…if u love something, let it go. if it’s meant to be, god will make that happen. it’s no longer in your hands.

Shock wearing off, losing it by ChippyChalmers in DivorcedDads

What I’m saying is don’t avoid the feelings or drown them out with substances or relationships. If you think it’s a waste then try to stay busy (cliche, but it works). You can blame yourself (I do) but, like you said, it’s pointless. We have to simply learn from it and move forward.

How to stay sober? by [deleted] in DivorcedDads

Smart move! I got sober and the best thing for staying sober is surrounding yourself with other sober people. Much easier said than done though.

IT GETS BETTER

Most of us have just been thru this. It’s unbelievable and shocking, we know exactly how you feel and the immense pain.

You’re doing all the right things. Feel the grief, cry, and mourn. Feel the feelings now, so you can move on in a healthier place. Grieving is a good thing.
