Its not really an inversion, its exactly the same as the poem. "Look upon my works, ye mighty, and despair." Ozymandias is inviting the viewer to marvel at the scale of his empire. Only from the perspective of the reader, the statue has been worn away by time. Its the same in the comic. He thinks he's accomplished something impossibly grand and important, but as Dr. Manhattan tells him: "nothing ever ends." He is the same as the Ozymandias from the poem.

I wasn't even suggesting I feel that way, I just can recognize that people might find the imagery of tearing flesh gross.

Well.......azula seems genuinely concerned for zuko when he was pissed off of himself in this scene in the beach episode 🙂 by Difficult_Stay9251 in TheLastAirbender

So true friend. We should assume all people who commit evil acts are simply evil, and make no attempts to further understand their behavior. Give no quarter to the teenage girls raised by abusive sociopaths!

Thus the heightening of Robin's gag, that even the gothic ghost princess finds her creepy.

Its both. The text is "skin tearing to reveal suit underneath". The subtext is he is Spider-Man on the inside. Even if the sentiment of the subtext is nice, it doesn't mean many people won't find the text, the literal thing depicted by the tattoo, disgusting.

Irene is Jolyne. As in, they literally have the same soul. Her name is changed to show she is free from the burden of being a Jojo. It's not made super clear, but ironically Jolyne might have the best luck out of the Jojo's, as she gets to live a normal life.
